Considering some of the other big money offers for Aus players coming from Japan recently, I have few doubts he would get that sort of money

Not the news I want to hear, but appreciated nonetheless. At least we’ve had a big of practice without him I guess - hopefully got the worst of it out of the way…

I think the most-recent rumour is 1mil+ and 2 Japan sabbaticals? Can probably almost name his price at this point. I'd be surprised if he didn't have one more contract in Aus, but the bigger question is whether he stays at the Reds. His family ties in QLD and baby due soon may mean he wants to...

The experience will be difficult to replace, but I'm not sure Korcyzk's 26 caps for the Reds across 5 seasons and 6 caps for Ealing since 2019 are fitting that bill. Nothing against him, and wish him nothing but success, but I'm not sure he's the man for the Reds in 2023.

Pretty big leap from people offering a different opinion on his suitability, in the specific context of the Reds 2023+, to this comment

Yeah there's injury management and accepting a level of risk, and then there's having 3 knee ops with long-term recovery periods at 27 years old.

I think Creighton, particularly in the QF against the Saders, showed that he has the potential to fill that gap with the right structures around him and a bit more development. His ability to be used as a utility also brings more to the squad than an out-and-out 10 like Mason imo. Even if...

    Crusaders v Reds 3/06/22 - QF1

No doubt, but after how things unfolded at the end of his Wallabies tenure, I don't blame him for wanting to step away.

Add Petaia and Henry (less of a certainty, but might've taken Grealey's bench spot) to the list of unavailable v the Hurricanes as well.

It isn’t about accepting a win is beyond us, it’s about understanding why it was a tough ask given the circumstances. It’s been said time and time again across numerous threads - 2 of our most valuable players out for a significant period, plus a rotation of 3/4/5 others out of the best 23...

QF 4 Brumbies vs Hurricanes 4-07 7.35pm AEST, 9.35pm NZT

I wouldn’t call falling from a height, landing heavily with some whiplash, and a decent likelihood that his head hit the ground, ‘on a whim’

I’m the third to say it, but Lonergan is having a blinder

He fills the utility role nicely, but the Reds have plenty of capable wingers. Would be more beneficial for him to develop as a 10 behind JOC (James O'Connor) before Lynagh is able to step up. He played well last night, and with some time in the driver’s seat, he should be able to do that.

    10 is Creighton’s preferred position

    Crusaders v Reds 3/06/22 - QF1

I think you’re maybe reading into those comments a bit too much. They knew it would be a tough game, but if you can weather the first half/two-thirds, you give yourself a legitimate chance of winning when the pressure’s on. I think they mostly achieved that

He moved from these positions as he lost a bit of pace and willingness to kick due to injuries. His shift to 10/centres has been a fruitful one, and I’m not sure he would still be playing at the level he is, had he remained on the wing/fullback.

Of course, and no doubt they've been targeted. Media fluff or not, I think it further confirms that the QLDer identity is a core element of the team's culture, which is probably becoming a rarer occurence across professional sports teams today - given the discussions in here this week, I think...

Interesting bit of timely insight given the discussion about the bulk of players being from the right side of Tweed
