Is this the report about player salaries? Flyhalfs were highest paid, yes, but is that solely a product of their importance in winning games, or other factors like a comparatively low supply of top-level players in that position (as we're seeing in Aus)?

Based on the available lists: Fainga’anuku 74.8% Sowakula 64.9% Telea and Mataela no total carries, but >63% Taukel’aho 62.9% Wilson 61.8% Tupaea 54.8% HTS 59.7% Jordan 53.1% FLW (Fergus Lee-Warner) 58% Wilson still near the top, so no matter how you slice it, the commentary around his effectiveness is misguided.

Yeah by my recollection they've never run ads during play - this campaign was likely just to highlight their key point of difference over FTA, aside from actually having the games in the first place

I hope it's more akin to what Sky UK have done in the linked video, using a first-person perspective. No doubt more difficult to achieve in a contact sport like rugby, as opposed to cricket or F1 where it's already being used successfully.

As a fellow sufferer of LLLS (Long-Lanky-Leg Syndrome), it's my duty to remind you that it's not the size of the calf that matters, but what you do with it.

Will be interesting to see if the tune changes next year if viewership continues to decline over there. Wouldn't exactly say this year's comp was a rousing success for NZ either

As rugby 'current affairs' shows they're somewhat obliged to address one of the biggest stories of the week though

Probably worth noting again that (disgruntled-ex) Fox broke the story and it's mainly been peddled by News Corp since. From what I've seen, there's been no mention across any of the official comms channels, and has only gotten a brief focus from Nine following a question to Rennie at a Wallabies...

Is it though? All of Aus' other major sporting leagues (NRL, netball, basketball, soccer), apart from cricket and AFL, have a Kiwi team. I'd argue that the biggest issue isn't the competition's format, rather the lack of competitiveness against NZ teams. If Aus teams were stomping all over the...

Looks worse full speed imo - he's very clearly gone to put a bit of a cheap hit on after the knock on, English player has dropped his height slightly to try regather, and Skelton's collected him in the head. Tucked his shoulder, planted his feet, and driven into the contact. His nervous laughter...

    Reds 2023

I wouldn't say 1/4 of the squad having Qld roots is hardly any. But speaking historically, and to your comment about the Brumbies, the point I was making off @TalentFinder's observation is that Qld is Australia's premier rugby nursery and the Reds recruit young talent through their pathways...

Understandable, no? Qld is the state that consistently brings the most talent through the pathways and have more up and coming players than one team can keep. The Rebels and Victoria are at the other end of the spectrum, so need to look elsewhere.

Can’t find the specific wording, but this is how it’s promoted in the in the initial release: “The RA Board has approved the amended policy which will allow three players to be chosen from overseas per tournament, series, or competition.”

As @GaffaCHinO said, that’s an ice pack, not a moon boot - standard practice to frequently ice on the run back from injury. The lack of strapping in the other photo is a good sign
