    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

Pat McCabe is very good at what he does. He closes down the 10-12 channel and manages to get over the advantage line. It is no surprise however that JW prefers Lilo in the 12 position. He realises that the Brumbies will not consistently win games by just shutting down the opposition. They also...

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

I would not say he is the worst but he certainly is not at the top of the pile. He is however widely regarded as one of our most talented players. Is that enough for him to pull off playing 10 against probably the second best side on the planet? We shall see but history has shown us that the...

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

or of Beale or of JOC (James O'Connor) Our 3 options(likely) at 10 have played a couple of games between them, if that, over the last couple of months. A bit risky considering it is the BIL and a very important series? Lilo is another option at 10 but has not played a test or any Super rugby at 10 to speak of...

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

We need this final 6 to be players that can make a difference and bring something else to the table. If Deans thinks we are going to win this series by out boshing and bashing the bosh & bash merchants we are already in trouble. Each one of your choices brings something that will add to the...

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

That doesn't seem to be an overriding requirement for this squad BR. Making no or close to no appearances doesn't seem to hinder selection either. Looks like the back-up scrummy will be Burgess unless he falls down the stairs when getting off the plane. I am a fan but feel bad for Nic White.

Ewen McKenzie - Life after the Reds

Link is currently the Director Of Rugby at the Reds, not the coach. When he was the coach the reds were turned around and played an exciting brand of rugby that won them the ultimate prize. He should be a lay down misere for the Wallaby job if it becomes available in the next couple of months...

The Rebs would have to be a little unhappy about that. Obviously Deans wants him back on the paddock.

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

He looked pretty good on the weekend. 40 minutes with him at 8 to gain some ascendancy then move Higgers from 6 to 8 with Mowen or MMM coming on.

I guess it is a year too late for Samo. He just has that amazing strength. Deans is looking for the same from Timani who has not quite figured out to use it effectively yet. We need a few pack members who can reciprocate and put some hurt on the Lions forwards.

Samo anyone? He has so much power and makes ample yards from a standing start in the thick of it. Palu is out of form and Deans may pull Samo out of nowhere as a very smart last 6 pick. Custom made for the Lions series!

    Reds vs Stormers, Newlands 2013

The lineout was a huge problem with the (possible)Wallabies main lineout jumper and back-up hooker. Not good. Genia very quiet for the last 2 weeks. Ezebeth(sp?) is a very good lock. Where do they find them in SA?

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

If Higgers started at 8 with Mowen or MMM at 6 the lineout would remain reasonably strong even though Timani would be alongside Horwill, which it looks as though RD is already decided on.

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

Timani was very strong in contact last night and was busy all game. Pyle had another good game and showed much more than Douglas. Higgers totally outplayed Palu and was exceptional at the base of a scrum that was going backwards for much of the night. That would be a good skill for the Wallabies...

Social Media Response to Wallabies Squad

It is not only the fans on facebook or the punters on this and other forums. It is previous Wallaby coaches, players and recognised experts of the game pretty much saying the same thing in regards to coaching and selection. His point regarding the incompetent way in which the ARU is run is fair...

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

Douglas has a bit of mongrel in him as well and just does not stop. Timani can be moved to 6 late in the game at a pinch and Kimlin is another 5-6 that could have been considered if MMM was not available. We really do need to meet the BILs head on in the forwards to have a chance of winning...

A make over for Quade Cooper

We need a change. Win, lose or draw.

A make over for Quade Cooper

How he reacts to not being selected will say a lot about how he has matured. Hopefully he will keep working on his game and not make any comment regarding his omission from the first 25. If he doesn't get picked for this series or even TRC, which is unlikely, a new coach will most probably bring...

Higgers, Mowen and Dennis all have the capacity to run the lineout. Higgers would be my starter at blindside if not at 8. I would be very tempted to throw Timani in the 2nd row with Horwill. If not then Douglas. Our set piece needs to be spot on with our starting pack.

A make over for Quade Cooper

Agreed. He has not been very smart in the way he has conducted himself. But he seems to have a better understanding now of what is expected of him and appears to be on the right track. He deserves another chance. As will KB (Kurtley Beale) when he gets sorted out. Right now we need a squad to defeat the Lions.
