    Geez.....better a Ritchie fan than a Quade Cooper fan....lol

    No...sorry mate.

AB's - Referees are not being fair to them

Can someone find it the Laws where you have to keep 'straight'? You're not allowed to twist but I don't find anything about being straight. Here are some scrum stats from the Gland Slam the All Blacks completed: ENGLAND NZ had 12 scrum feeds and won 10 and gave away 5 penalty offences at the...

    Rugby World Cup 2011

I've moved to Australia in the last 12 months or so and you're right about the comparisons with your cricket team. I'm not a huge cricket fan myself but even I'm unbelievably happy whenever the Black Caps beat the Aussies. Off topic BUT - is there any 24hr radio sport station here in...

    World XV Redux

Ohhhhh....debateable. I'd take Cowan (on form alone) this year every day of the week. Of course I'm biased. And if Weepu had been fit to go on tour, I'd have taken him over Cowan. As for putting Pocock at 7 and McCaw at 6....I think I agree. I've stated elsewhere that while I think Ritchie is...

    All Blacks EOYT

Perhaps but I'm yet to see a high-shot this year that didn't at least get a penalty. They called McCaw for the knock-on. If anything, the refs have been ridiculed this year for being too soft eg. Drew Mitchell's red-card decisions earlier in the year. Hartley didn't get sited in the Poms game...

    All Blacks EOYT

Yeah...it's a try he'll remember for the rest of his life I reckon. Having the 'fresh legs' would have definitely helped but he did seem to have a bit of gas on him. Both Kev Mealamu and Hore are pretty good ball runners as well. I became a Mealamu fan years ago before he became an AB. He...

    Rugby World Cup 2011

This is something that not many people understand about NZ rugby. Robbie Deans and the Wallabies are tracking along at approx 55% success rate in the last 3 years - a number which a lot are people are happy with so long the prospects at the RWC look good. Robbiw has some leeway to experiment...

    World XV Redux

Maybe he is but then you'd be picking in him in a World XV based on past form and/or potential given that this is only his 2nd year playing international rugby. I don't think his form this year would warrant his selection - injured or not.

    World XV Redux

People must be picking Genia on last year's form surely. He has hardly set the world on fire this year at all IMO.

Haha....Ritchie saw about 3 of him all at once...lol. He started walking over to have a word with all of them.... That damned cloak again....lol

Does anyone know whether Andy Powell has been sighted? How did that not get a penalty at least? McCaw did not look happy when he got up - looked to me like he was going over to discuss it further....he seemed pretty groggy tho.

Shortlist announced for IRB Player of Year

Didn't dispute Pocok's stats and I even recognised that he could possibly be the best 7 in the game at the moment. I was simply saying that Pocock doesn't have the same impact on the whole game as McCaw does yet. As I said, there were 2 games in this EOYT where Pocock hasn't figured as highly...

    2010 Wallaby Report Card

You're right - I forgot how hopeless your scrum was at the beginning of the year. So it probably went from being poor to avergae back to poor. Yep - agree with that one call you mentioned where the Aussies got called for early engagement. Def looked to be like he stuck the wrong arm up and...

Shortlist announced for IRB Player of Year

Go back and take a look at Pocock's ratings against Italy and England. He doesn't feature in a number of people's lists and isn't often No.1. Here are a couple of McCaw's stats from the Grand Slam: Wales - As per usual it was McCaw to the fore this weekend as the leading tackler with 14...

Shortlist announced for IRB Player of Year

Unfortunately for Pocock we're not talking about the 'rising star' award but the player of the year. Pocock has been a bit quiet in one or two games in this EOYT whereas McCaw's influence right across the field is colossal.

    2010 Wallaby Report Card

Average? It was probably average in the beginning of the year and is now either an embarrassment or a source of merriment depending on whether you support the Wallabies or their opposition. Backline is equalled only by the All Blacks but some of the forwards need heart transplants. TPN and Palu...

    De-runting the backline

Ummmm....I would have thought you'd look at what players you had first and then work out a game plan that they can best implement.

I missed that one....I'll have to open both eyes ;)

I thought it was getting penalised but not yellow-carded?? Is it both?? Hansen's right.....complaining about him does get boring :)
