Super Rugby T-T R4 Brumbies vs Hurricanes

About time a kiwi team fucked up on the bell. LOL

    Waratahs 2021

The Tahs are a lost cause this season. It seems to me they have taken the attitude that they have nothing to lose and are just going out and having a crack. Notwithstanding the issues you outline, most of which I agree with, despite yours and Derpus’ naysaying they have been fun and...

Super Rugby T-T R4 Clan Vs Waratahs

Shite. What happened there? You often get one wild card front rower stepping up but 4 of them, big ask. Backs are fine, just need to come up with a way to get them the ball!

    2021 Buildcorp Super W Season

I can understand it in this instance, particularly for the Narromine and Dubbo girls, it's great that they have been noticed and picked up by the Brumbies. As it's semi pro they can't really afford to relocate just for a short footy comp. However LB, I do 100% agree with you for fully...

    2021 Buildcorp Super W Season

That’s true I guess. I just figured you would have had to sign for a club in the jurisdiction of the pro outfit you are playing for. As you were.

    Super Rugby T-T R3: Highlanders v Rebels

    Did she realise he’s a kiwi? :D

    2021 Buildcorp Super W Season

Just out of curiosity BR, how are players from Dubbo, Narromine, Gordon and Easts eligible for the Brumbies? Is by no means a complaint, and I get that to give the women’s game a kick start they need looser eligibility rules, but I’m just curious as to what they are.

    Waratahs 2021

Is hooper able to kit up this weekend? He can’t train so he won’t be picked obviously but I’d have him as the 24th man, his contribution during the warm up would be invaluable. Worst case he’d be the water runner I guess

    Wallabies 2021

I think it depends on who the 6 and 8 and reserve lock are, and of course we could go a 6:2 split. The main problem with Hooper/Pocock is that it would have been more ideal to finish with it rather than start with it. Hooper and McReight going nuts for the last 20 certainly has some appeal.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

That would be the most logical. if NZ have 5 teams then we're only looking at 3 or 4 home games for these sides a season. The 3rd team is really there obviously for the players who aren't from NSW or Qld, and I guess the appeal for the supporters of these players is that they are genuinely...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Build it and they will come. It's not an overnight proposition whatever we do, it requires hard work and investment.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

    1. definitely outside capital - PE, sponsors and member ownership 2. initially you'd let the existing contracts run their course but encourage uncontracted players to at least look at the new clubs. Over time I think players would migrate towards their roots 3. Shute Shield and QPR become semi...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Rebels3 is right, it's not likely to happen. But the hypothetical concept here is that these are rep teams formed from the best players of the domestic comp. To answer your question the teams would be NSW origin, Qld origin and 'best of the rest'. No teams are being cut, the current 5...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I get all that, but how are they going to play more games unless they have someone to play them against?
  15. KOB1987

    Where to for Super Rugby?

If you make the assumption that we're forming 3 rep teams from 8-10 teams, and are playing 5 NZ teams that are playing in a comp all season then yes ours will need a bit of time. However, if you make that first assumption then 2 things will happen - firstly NZ will need to adapt to an 8-10 team...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

    That's what I'm saying.
  17. KOB1987

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Yes but it was at the wrong time. A proper domestic comp with teams that supporters can relate to is what's required, and in this instance the Wallabies will be playing in it. Shute Shield and QPR then become semi pro comps and the three rep teams are just that, rep teams with Wallabies...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

What happens with the 135 pro players who don't make the Wallabies currently? It's not a perfect fix that I am proposing but in an 8-10 team domestic comp 70% of the players are going to be semi pro anyway, much like a lot of the fringe players currently are. It's a more viable option than...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

It's not a good enough standard to produce them, I agree with that. As I outline above it wouldn't be to produce or develop them, they are in the pro system for the bulk of the season, having them return to club land for the last couple of months will only improve the standard and the profile of...
  20. KOB1987

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Not really. The top 80-90 eligible players in the country would be involved with the three rep teams, and the remaining ones are going to be in the pro system for the bulk of the season. It would be a boon for the fringe players to then go back and play for their clubs for the last few rounds...
