    QLD Reds 2010

See my post from the QRU on the other thread. Horan and Miller!?!?! Not exactly a world-wide recruitment.

    Barnes joins Tahs!

My father just forwarded me this, along with the message: "garbage!"

    Barnes joins Tahs!

OK, I'm doing that quote-within-a-quote thing that I told people not to do. But I just wanted to point out how amazingly well the Brumbies turned around their forward problems. So, they're not challenging the Bulls for forward dominance, but they are no longer a joke. It shows that change starts...

    Barnes joins Tahs!

Welcome aboard Tah-Man. It's an unsual model of corporate propaganda that you're putting out there, but I like the unorthodox. If we are talking drafts and so on, I don't see that the existence of the Brumbies and Force ought to be dependent upon developing their own players. The main purpose...

    Barnes joins Tahs!

Well, I clearly care about Australian rugby now and into the future. I have real concerns about the decline of QLD rugby. However, I was at Suncorp watching RED v HUR in Round 14 this year, and I was overwhelmed by a feeling of sympathy for Berrick Barnes. I think this is positive for Barnes...

    Barnes joins Tahs!

I reckon it's good for Al Baxter, it's good for Benn Robinson, it's good for Tatafu Polota-Nau, it's good for ... you get my point. I know there's a downside here, but it's not so clear to me that this is bad overall for Australian rugby. My favourite two sides are the Tahs and Brumbies. I'm...

    Barnes joins Tahs!

I've had a few minutes to think about this. 1. It's very very good news for the Tahs. He will improve our backline enormously. Not sure what you mean Lee? Seems like a kick-to-the-corners 10/12 would suit our piggies perfectly. 2. It's good news for Berrick personally - he is one of...

I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

    Saffa v Kiwi. Bloem.

Saffers have a hard time winning in New Zealand. This one is still wide open.

Rumour of the week: Tahu back to League?

Yeah, I don't mind getting back guys who wanted to earn some $ playing sport after school. Sure, it would be nice if they would play club rugby and get some kind of job. But if we are going to buy leaguies it should be these guys who have played excellent school rugby and are not charging $1m a...

    Saffa v Kiwi. Bloem.

A few matches to go yet, Paarl. The Wallabies currently have the best away record in the 2009 Tri-Nations.

    Saffa v Kiwi. Bloem.

Absolutely. Rodney is left with one trick only - standing as halfback for the opposition. And did you see Spies absolutely smoke Conrad Smith for the last try? Went past him like he was standing still.

    Waratahs 2010

Maybe Papworth can build the new Rams franchise around Batger. Fred Mishalak: I am coming to Australia to enjoy the beauty of Western Sydney and to play with someone like Ben Batger.

The breakdown is putting me off rugby at this time

Shape? The rucks are shaped like a dog's turd at the moment. People talked about cynicism with the ELVs - players could infringe without serious penalty. Well, with the ELVs gone, sides are now trying to get downtown just to milk a penalty. It'll be interesting to compare the number of tries...

The breakdown is putting me off rugby at this time

Cheers PotU. It is weird that the touchies got remaned assistant referees, but don't seem to be using their authority much. At the very least, you could run things like soccer, where the touchies are responsible for offside. They just stick their flag in the air and the ref blows it up...

    Waratahs 2010

Maybe the QLD thread has simpler - sorry, MORE EASY - style and grammar?

Rumour of the week: Tahu back to League?

Yeah, definitely seems like a decent bloke, no hard feelings from me. I just don't want to buy any more players from 1st grade - stick to Jersey Flegg or whatever it is called.

    Waratahs 2010

fos, you know how bitter and resentful Kiwis become when the Wallabies beat the All Blacks? Primarily because they see us like a bullying big brother and are desperate to get one over on us? Well, just think about it, is all I'm saying.

    Waratahs 2010

Just because no-one wants to move to QLD, you needn't try to make a virtue of it.

    15th team

Rugby league is now about 50% polynesians and they fill out plenty of teams and stadia. If the ARU / NSWRU were serious about Western Sydney I'm sure a new team could be supported - mostly from new fans. But it would take time and effort and the financial world does not encourage such a venture...
