    Rugby News from unexpected places

Apparently this is from the sales department of CBS. According to the source MLR is the most popular weekly program on CBSSN. People are trying to find out if they are real. If they are. Holy Crap. https://imgur.com/7UIumVB Also, it's been confirmed that next season will feature at least 10...

The USA Eagles handed the Russians a 63-13 beating in Denver earlier today.

2018 TV ratings and crowd numbers

I'm a millennial and those stats are fairly consistent in my experience. Though I do own a TV but hardly use it unless I'm streaming something from my laptop via my Chromecast or watching Rugby. I also like many tend to get my news primarily via my Twitter feed where I follow a number of news...

Australian Rugby Union (ARU) - Positivity Thread

Apparently RA offered the IRFU a three test series for their women's team as well but were turned down. That would have been a major win if the Irish elected to send their women's team.

The problem with the NRC and how to fix it

I'd prefer to see an expansion of the schedule over new teams in the coming seasons.

The problem with the NRC and how to fix it

Two sides per Super Rugby team is probably the best set up. Would have liked one of those to have been the Rams but alas that is not the case.

The problem with the NRC and how to fix it

I'm less affected by this move as I essentially saw this coming from last season with Eastwood taking control of the Rams and moving them to TG Milner. That killed any momentum built from the previous season at Concord Oval and for all intensive purposes the Rams as a Western Sydney team. Even...

The problem with the NRC and how to fix it

Wasn't hard to see coming from last season. The Rams essentially became Eastwood with a tinge of orange in their kit. This has to be the last reduction From now on in they should be looking at growing the schedule to at least 10 games each from this point on.

2018 TV ratings and crowd numbers

Probably not. I'm just stirring some members of this forum on their belief that club rugby is more popular than it really is.

2018 TV ratings and crowd numbers

How big do you think those crowds are? Maybe a couple of thousand outside of the Manly/Warringah derbies. Nothing earth shattering. As for the broadcast. You are aware that they supply the telecast for free right? Free content is free content. Those ratings numbers don't lie.

2018 TV ratings and crowd numbers

But, but, but...according to some this broadcast is a sign of the overwhelming popularity of the Shute Shield.

    Shute Shield 2018

Yeah I was wrong to say never.

    Shute Shield 2018

Maybe when they were founded in the early 1900s Ashfield was the western suburbs but that hasn't been the case for a long while now. They also moved from Pratten Park outside the odd game here and there in the 60s. As the west grew outward they've moved with it. West Harbour despite it's name...

    Shute Shield 2018

West Harbour is not nor has ever been part of the western suburbs.

Fulltime domestic Women's Sevens Competition from 2017

Re: Hodder. They'd be nuts not to give her a run somewhere.

Fulltime domestic Women's Sevens Competition from 2017

Good to see. Hopefully they'll now look at expanding the schedule as well to include more rounds. In an ideal world that would involve every Uni hosting a round but it's unlikely any time soon. So at least one in every state/territory involved would be a good start.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Would prefer this than having the NSW Tahs competing in such a structure.
