    Australia v South Africa - Perth - 6 September 2014

Horwill has been coming into form in the latter part of the season and he offers a lot in the second row. He can run the line out and play either side. Carter really was shown up for his body positioning and he just didn't have the defensive punch that won him a man of the match award against...

    New Zealand v Australia - Auckland - 23 August 2014

What Quade does so well is feed his forward runners. He is acutely aware of what is going on and where the opportunities are several phases ahead. Particularly at the Reds he feeds the forward runners, putting them into holes and half holes getting go forward across the advantage line. Then he...

    New Zealand v Australia - Auckland - 23 August 2014

Link obviously rates Higgers as his reserve 8. It's not so crazy. Less so than throwing Beale into 10 after not having played the position all year. Higgers plays 8 week in and out and has played test rugby well in the past.

    New Zealand v Australia - Auckland - 23 August 2014

Horne packed in the following scrum and it really didn't help much. I was surprised at what a difference Simmons makes when packing on the TH side. Why can't he bring that level of grunt to general play? We end up having Palu playing as a 3rd lock and Fardy also covers some of the tight work...

    New Zealand v Australia - Auckland - 23 August 2014

I think Higgers should be given a start at 8 and retain Fardy at 6. Also start with Skelton and have Carter on the bench. Hope TPN is back. I have said it many times here, Palu really struggles in any high paced game and is a step or two behind the play. Fardy also struggled to keep up as well...

    New Zealand v Australia - Auckland - 23 August 2014

Yeah. The replays shows he probably would have got over if he went himself. He was trying to not be selfish I guess. He had a very good run-on debut.

If its dry (I know I know it's Eden Park) I would like to see Phipps start and agree that if Tomane is not available that Kuridrani should come back in at 13 for now. I would also consider starting Skelton and giving him 40-50 minutes to help get us over the advantage line and to give us some...

Australia v New Zealand - Sydney 16 Aug

Rubbish. The penalty for Fardy interfering in the line out was a bad call. Hde didn't touch the jumper. Higgers was only on a short time but he carried well, put in some good hits and was at a lot of breakdowns.

You're right but he should have been subbed as soon as he injured his leg.
  12. Joe Blow

Australia v New Zealand - Sydney 16 Aug

Yes he will. He would have been our first picked TH in the series against France. No-one else was close to his form pre-injury. He will help bring us home with a very good work rate in the tight as well. Our bench is strong with he, Skelton and Higgers to enter the fray in the final 30mins along...

    Wallaby Watch 2014

Skelton or Carter to start? I could see Link going either way. Skelton to help establish physical presence and to back up Palu's running game without TPN for this test. Carter as he is a workhorse who will tackle, clear out and carry all night as well as being a reasonable line out target. With...

I just don't see him as a test standard winger. There is no doubting his enthusiasm and toughness but we really need to have at least one wing with outright finishing ability and pace. I would view McCabe more as a midfield possibility, where he has gone well before at test level. I would opt...

Whats disturbing is that she is reporting the possibility of McCabe starting on one wing in place of Badger! I would imagine that Sam Carter would be thrilled to be referred to as a tyro.

Hopefully it is not serious for TPN. He had another great game up until he was injured. He is a pretty tough nut. Big push from Phipps and Beale for starting spots in the Bled. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) demanding consideration at 13 as well. The Super rugby final should give us a lot of confidence going into the RC...

Waratahs vs Crusaders 2014 Super Rugby Grand Final

What a sensational game of rugby. That it was played under the enormous pressure of a final is just a testament to the comp and two very good rugby sides. Congrats Tahs and the Tahs faithful. Condolences to a well represented Crusdaders. No other side could have pushed NSW so close. Enjoy it...

It would be nice to have some out and out wingers rather than utility players for the starting wing positions. I guess Horne is becoming a winger full time now. Speight and Tomane would be nice to have around. The Boks and ABs have some serious toe on the wing and we need to match them.

    Wallabies v France 3rd Test - 21 June Sydney

As always we need most of our first pick forwards available but in this series we have been without Moore, Pocock & Alexander and their replacements (if you can call them that) have all stepped up admirably. I think part of the reason our scrum improved was Horwill coming on in place of Skelton...

Wallabies v France - June 14 Etihad Stadium

Ben Alexander is still a very important man in Wallaby rugby and probably would have been starting in this series if fit. Up north the first player chosen for any side is the TH prop and the second the reserve TH. Hopefully both Kepu and Alexander are fit next year and we have another young...
