Super Rugby Round 5, Waratahs vs Rebels - Sunday 18 March @ 4pm

The thing I like was the passing and support play, we are having "those" sorts of tries each week. Nice interplays, solid support work. From Beale's no try in the earlier rounds to Rona's vs the Jags and couple in this game likes Simmon's Bloody good team support play

Nice work by the tahs once they started to catch the ball, their work in the first half kept being hamstrung by dropped balls Sent from my Nexus 9 using Tapatalk

Hegarty is an interesting choice at 15. "If" he links, uses his rugby brain & runs the ball he can be pretty good Or we get the other Hegarty who kicks and chases every time.

It is a bit early to be slitting wrists at the moment and being heavily concerned about who can be signed for the 2019 season The squad is young, with a lot of talent, let us wait until May/June before getting out the tiki torches

    Waratahs 2018

I have little issue with the props the Tahs have brought in, I think at 30 Ryan should be reaching his scrummaging peak. That "peak" simply isn't as a Super Rugby starter, he is continually getting mullared

After watching him play for London Irish, I don't think he would actually add enough to take the chance

Strange list, a couple of nice targets, some strange picks on the dumping list But the true failure is your suggestion of JOC (James O'Connor), never ever

    Waratahs 2018

and in the mean time work on solutions from within the squad I think the "plan" was Staniforth (he was signed ages ago) to be starting with Skelton. Then Skelton didn't sign and we ended up with Simmons.

    Waratahs 2018

I don't see Staniforth as a major issue, his work rate is immense. I see balance in the side as the issue. Staniforth always makes himself available to truck the ball up, we need more effective units who will make themselves consistently available so Staniforth isn't needed so much for that...

    The Wallabies Thread

It is why I don't get too excited about the form (or lack of form) in the early rounds of test players. This comp gets hard in the later rounds and at the moment we haven't played any decent sides where guys like Kerevi get their defensive decision making really questioned

    Brumbies 2018

Slow backs generally had to have a brain to survive, I would put Berne, Tirinui & Kafer all in that group as well. Hewitt fits that genre as well

Super Rugby Round 5, Waratahs vs Rebels - Sunday 18 March @ 4pm

In the backs, the Tahs. It has been our only shining light The Foley, Beale, Folau nexus is all we have at the moment I suspect if the the Tahs backs were running behind the Rebels pigs there would be near twice as many points scored The Rebels backs so far have so far been more about...
