New Zealand vs Australia Oct 11 2020 Bledisloe Cup

That's true about Wright Rugboy. As I remember he did score a brace against Nawaqanitawase and I think that was the last we saw of Mark in the competition.

New Zealand vs Australia Oct 11 2020 Bledisloe Cup

My only issue is that all three of Koroibete, Duagunu and Wright have been playing in the 11 spot. Presumably, that is the side they are most comfortable with, the one that suits their running style and lines best and possibly also reflects the foot they prefer to kick with if and when required...

New Zealand vs Australia Oct 11 2020 Bledisloe Cup

As I pointed out some way above, Daugunu put in one kick in general play against the Rebels in the semi final, which went out on the full from outside his 22m area. Can't say I saw any others during the SRAu competition.

    Wallabies 2020

Surprising to me how many diehard rugby fans on this site know so little about players from teams they don't support. A lot of questions being asked about Matt Philip, for example. He really didn't come down in the last shower of rain. Has been a consistent starter and one of the stronger...

Like in the hookers spot for lineouts? Hmmm, seems like I've seen that somewhere.

That would be evidence that you haven't seen him play much or haven't taken notice.

New Zealand vs Australia Oct 11 2020 Bledisloe Cup

Sure I heard on ABC or SBS news tonight that the Wallabies won't be leaving for NZ until perhaps Saturday. Anyone throw some light on this, if so? What happened to Wednesday departure which was being reported?

I don't doubt Ramm could do a more than satisfactory job, but don't think it will happen just yet.

    Wallabies 2020

He does have a kicking game, sure. One kick in the semi which sailed into touch on the full, and not even one in the final that I recall. Small sample, but not encouraging in an international winger with pretensions to some fullback abilities.

    Brumbies 2021

I believe he's already back and has been training with the Brumbies. Could be wrong, but that's my understanding. And why not? I believe he's Wallaby eligible through a grand parent, and while he's not on that particular radar atm, he would conceivably have a better shot at being an...

New Zealand vs Australia Oct 11 2020 Bledisloe Cup

TK would be the best option, for sure. But is it even possible, unless he is brought into the squad today before departure tomorrow. I can't see any individuals being added to the squad once it has arrived in NZ because of, I'm assuming, the need for further quarantine before joining the team in...

    Wallabies 2020

My only issue with Pete Samu at 6 is that he doesn't play there for the Brumbies. His metres gained stat would also reflect his ability to continue to make ground in tackles. Probably one of the best in the country.

Nah. Both Banks and Maddocks have been tried on the wing, and neither passed muster. Wright should have the 14 spot and Koroibete the 11. Fullback a coin toss between Banks and Maddocks.

    Wallabies 2020

Yes, Wright, Hooper and Wilson are an option, but we'd be replacing two strong defenders and ball carriers with one. Still not the best balance in my book.

Indications are that McCaffrey might be going next year, and if the Olympics are on, there is a good chance Cusack won't be available for some part, so it could be the opportunity for Browne to take the 7 jersey from, or at least share it with, Miller.

    Wallabies 2020

I do try to avoid conversations including mention of Rob Simmons these days, but some comments just cry out to be challenged. Rob cannot be anointed the best lineout operator this year. Was beaten by Neville who has been consistently the best in games he played, and Liam Wright has been the...

    Wallabies 2020

ZC I reckon you're close to the mark with the backline. Only proviso is that Petaia recovers in time and there must be a doubt about playing both Koroibete and Daugunu together. The forwards though are a different kettle of fish imo. Your pack is very light on for aggression and I fear would...

BH do you think that advertising generally is worthless or just any associated with rugby?

Reg, maybe ask the same question this time next year. But I am very happy to see the development in Blyth during SRAu. Unfortunate to miss the cut for the Wallabies squad. Better than two locks who were included.
