I agree that it helps JOC (James O'Connor) (and almost every other 10) to have another playmaker there, but I guess there are a couple of observations I’d make - - JOC (James O'Connor) looks best when he runs to the line with runners in motion around him. Having any combination of Stewart, Paisami, Petaia, Vunivalu & Daugunu on...

I agree with all of that - but I won’t be surprised if Thorn uses some squad rotation. But yeah, Paisami is proving to be something of a revelation.

    Australia v Argentina - 21 November, Newcastle

Personally I doubt it. He was the best winger at super rugby and has demonstrated he can make an impact at test level - and not only in his first game. But he does have some issues to address and Rennie does have options so he could find himself outside the 23. If he misses the next test...

    Australia v Argentina - 21 November, Newcastle

I wouldn’t say it was a turning point for me. The reality is we should have been ahead by 20 at that point and the game in the bag. A bit rough to call it a turning point which lays too much responsibility at Dauguni’s feet for mine. But it was a bad option and Rennie commented specifically on...

    Australia v Argentina - 21 November, Newcastle

I started to post, then decided to watch the press conference first. Glad I did and it’s worth a listen. A couple of my take outs from that is the Rennie didn’t seem to have an issue with Hooper’s decision making and seemed more critical that we weren’t patient enough to turn the opportunity...

Interesting call on Hooper. I thought he actually could do that under the laws. Listening to Williams he did penalise Hooper for taking him past the ball (he didn’t actually take him that far), he got him for cleaning a guy who wasn’t part of the breakdown because there wasn’t one. But he was...

Maybe let’s let him have a few more games before we run a rule through him

Hugh Pyle’s name has been mentioned a few times. I can’t see on a search if he is unsigned or not for next year. Is he a realistic option?

    Waratahs 2021

I don’t think they even need a player of Skelton’s calibre. If they could just secure 3 reasonable, hardworking locks they would come right back into calculations. If they signed someone of the calibre of of Skelton or Arnold then they become a realistic title threat. Bench & broader squad...

Disappointed. I thought maybe you’d unmasked BH as one of the big hitters pulling the strings behind the scenes at the Tahs.

Okay - so if we said yes rather than throwing up hypothetical alternatives Braveheart would make it happen? My apologies - I wasn’t taking it seriously before this :)

Timu’s problem was mainly ball security, IMO. Discipline was also a worry - although that may have been mainly perception. I loved the bloke and he was outstanding for Qld 3 yrs ago I always felt like he was on the edge of completely losing it.

Out of the candidates for the 6 jersey - Hanigan & Wright are the best 2 lineout operators, have the highest work rates and I believe they are the two most accurate defenders. I rate Wright better at the breakdown, but Hanigan better in contact. Hanigan also looks the better lineout operator to...

I admit to being tempted - big fan of Harrison - but our cupboard has been stripped pretty bare for locks and LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) has been outstanding this year. I just think the gap back to the next best 10 isn’t anywhere near the chasm back to the next best lock.

Honestly - I’d be tempted but LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) is just too good to let go. What if we let Rodda & Hockings go so you can pick them up? Rodda’s a NSW boy anyway isn’t he? QRU can give you a warm handover to their manager.
