    Crusaders v Reds 3/06/22 - QF1

Already anyone hoping that the commentary might not be 100% Kiwi centric would be disappointed.

    Reds 2023

I'd be unhappy if a long term deal was negotiated if there isn't improvement next season. I'm happy to recognise what Thorn has provided but after 5 years, actually next season 6 years, it is enough to consider what is available. Sure, if what is available doesn't stand ahead of Thorn then...

Ready isn't likely to be compatible with the Thorn approach. I wouldn't say no to Hanson but not excited either.

    Wallabies 2023

Got to agree here, the thinking is good FP. I might expand the combination thinking and consider Paisami ahead of Perese but there are plenty of reasons not to. How solid is that back three for kicking? I can't recall Kellaway's ability under stress with the boot. Maybe not Paisami/Perese at 23...

    Christ, Derpus, I can't un-think that.

    Crusaders v Reds 3/06/22 - QF1

Bac Was just about to say the same. Back to the match, maybe the Reds haven't done so well in terms of W's against the Kiwis but hell, it's knock out rugby. Maybe that SOO pep talk etc etc will have an impact. I get that we are missing JOC (James O'Connor) but honestly, Creighton has been looking decent after...

    Super Rugby 2022

Count me as one of the fans who has been completely dis-absorbed of Super in the absence of a domestic champion and the predictable results from a non-level playing field between NZ and Aus. Initially I wouldn't miss any Aus rugby match and spent time agonising the GGR team of the week. Since...

    Wallabies 2023

Surely we would add him to the squad of available??

    Reds 2023

Cool. With just a bit of luck they spent some time sorting the kicking game and a shed load of work so we can present with a least a halfway competent line out. Otherwise it's just media fluff.

Nup. The problem is that for the Reds to be sustainable, they need to find a pathway to transform excellent club coaches into Super. It doesn't happen simply by an international search for a coach outside of Q but with a Q connection. There is a missing ingredient there. Or two.

    Reds 2023

I don't know about that. If you want to judge when we last recruited a big name, judge it on when we last recruited a big name. AND then, if the organisation is able to add, that big name is connected to Q, well that is an added benefit, isn't it? It seems to me our problem isn't really...

    Reds 2023

I don't understand why we would have a problem with recruitment wanting a Q connection in their targets.

    Reds 2022

They won't and they shouldn't. It would be nice all the same to know something about where they are headed after 2023.

That is sad. Vale LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto).

    CruSadists v Reds 27/05/22 at A.R.S.E.

I would think that any S&C specialist would suggest there is a considerable deal more than doing an extra lap, for brilliant fitness. I would have thought the same on kicking accuracy, it's not just the number of practice shots but what you do in the process. Whether we are talking skills...

    Reds 2022

It seems below Thorn's own stated expectations. But the W/L ratio is not really the source of disappointment. Atrocious kicking game, no real exit ability, ruck work being dominated by the opposition, a line out that seems manned by Boy Scouts, ineffective engagement of the undoubtable...

    Reds 2022

There needs to be a pathway for local coaches, if that means Heenan then there should be at least a generic plan. Wasn't he coaching NRC?

    Reds 2022

OK, I'm in some despondency following the latest Reds performance in NZ. I'll start by cross posting this (apologies Wilson): "I don't buy into this narrative that Thorn is done, with his record, everything else that's happened this year and the long term commitment the reds have made to him I...

    CruSadists v Reds 27/05/22 at A.R.S.E.

Yeah, yeah. It's the despondency following another utter shite performance. Thorn will be given the benefit of the doubt around injuries. And I wouldn't think there is anything better available. We don't want revolving doors again. But sheesh.
