    Tri Nations - AUS v SAF 23rd July 2011.

Man the Bok attack is so stagnant after ruck ball, OZ having to commit very few numbers allowing them to fan out and organize way too easily. Olivier does not have the variation in his game when the defensive line is set.

    Aplon that was weak

Geez that was a good final ball from Rocky, thought he was going to fluff it.

    NZ v Fiji Test 22/Jul/2011

Yep. When Carter retires I will stop watching ABs v Wallabies tests because it will be a foregone conclusion...

    Pat McCabe

People saying McCabe isn't a 12 based on his skills might remember that the game has evolved somewhat. The ABs have had success with Umaga and Nonu at 12. Both players that even I would traditionally say were 13 types. Umaga had to develop his passing game considerably and that came during his...

    ITM Cup VS Shute Shield

Don't ever go into politics topo, you'll miss all the spin :)

    Tri Nations - AUS v SAF 23rd July 2011.

I think with Hodgson and Higginbottom you get the best of both worlds of impact and blue collar. Hodgson has been in the set up before and Deans likes his versatility. I'm not surprised by his inclusion over others to be honest.

    Pat McCabe

Yep world class, just like that young Beau Robinson... McCabe is a good player and seeing him live for the Ponies demonstrated to me that he has all the makings of a test player. What I saw on Sunday was a player that lacked some of the small things, it's not in the stats, but the instinct of...

    Tri Nations - AUS v SAF 23rd July 2011.

Hey I finally predicted something, the backs bench and the starting backs bar the direct swap of McCabe and Giteau. Not sure why some are questioning JOC (James O'Connor) on the wing, his combination with Beale at the back and filling in as a 2nd fullback type winger was very good last year. And Scotty...

Can someone change the date of the thread title to 23rd July.

    Rugby Coaching

Some refs do have a stock of Rolex vouchers that are worth a quid or two :) In terms of coaching, the best coaches I've had are good communicators (ie good speakers and listeners), don't patronise you by always giving the impression they know the answers all the time. Also they have a number...

    Tri Nations - AUS v SAF 23rd July 2011.

Yep. Looked sluggish to me, although his mouth was on fire and back to top form :) The ABs had Slade and Sivivatu play in the ITM cup over the weekend just to get some run in the legs.
  13. ACT Crusader

    Tri Nations - AUS v SAF 23rd July 2011.

I think Giteau will start at 12. Finger on the bench covering 12/13. 9. Genia 10. Quade 11. Diggers 12. Giteau 13. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) 14. Rabbit 15. Beale With that starting lineup you could easily go a 5/2 split with a specialist halfback. Genia goes down in the first minute, you need someone...

    Tri Nations - AUS v SAF 23rd July 2011.

Fire up fullas.... I think the loose forward/lock combinations will be very interesting for this one. IMO the starting locks pick themselves (Horwill and Sharpe are your best). Captain Rocky also picks himself and seriously needs the gametime. Pocock is the first choice openside. I think...

Quade Cooper - The most important player in Australian Rugby

Even more so for a Sunday afternoon.

    YOUR experimental law variations.

Missed drop goal attempts that go dead, team gets option of scrum back where the attempt was taken

Quade Cooper - The most important player in Australian Rugby

Like I said Gnostic, I don't know what's going on at the Wallabies and how things are managed etc. Just had some insight into the Crusaders, that's all.

Quade Cooper - The most important player in Australian Rugby

I think you'd be surprised at how "hands on" Deans was at the Crusaders. He was very involved and would spend a lot of one on one time with each player in particular the lesser knowns. I don't know what the situation is at the Wallabies, but hopefully that answers your question a bit.

George Gregan, John Eales, part of Nine Broadcast team.

Ahh the days of Bray, Poido and Buddah.... Haven't watched FTA coverage for years. I did watch a test on CH10, and I found that somewhat dire. Ben Tune no thanks. Agree with barbarian, Eales horse voice is difficult to take seriously
  20. ACT Crusader

    Tawera Kerr-Barlow, an interesting prospect.

Pretty tough up until now with a former AB in front of him at the Chiefs. I'm sure TKB has aspirations to make the ABs but I don't think he thinks right now or even next year. He's a kid and there are plenty of players still around in the AB frame ahead of him
