Exactly, Aaron Smith does this at pretty well every penalty, he doesn't tap & go at every penalty. But he ensures the team has the option

Yep, while no one else is actually playing so well enough to force their way forward, experience wins

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

I want to see all potential 9s put through a heavy kicking school by Mick the kick all summer, both box kicks and clearances - faster execution and accuracy I don't see the point of passing back 10-15 metres for a 40m clearance where no one can chase because the majority are in front of the...

In rugby you sometimes need units to play a role and just do a job. They are not the most explosive or dominant, but they do the dog work that allows others to pick their moments. But there is no such thing as an "average" 50 test rugby player, you reach that level and you are simply a Wallaby

Wallabies v Ireland, Saturday 16th June, 8.00pm, AAMI Park, Melbourne

After watching the press conference from the last test (posted in the game thread) I don't think we will see any changes to the starting team, and as the bench did good, I think the bench won't change either Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk

I don't see Simmons as a 6. I agree Tui & Timu have for more upside ball in hand but I also see an argument that Hanigan is the most effective lineout functionary playing 6 I expect the Irish to attack our set piece big time this week, especially our lineout and was considering counters

Cheika could always decide to sure up the lineout and pick Hanigan - he is the only serious 3rd lineout option in the squad and realistically will do as much as Timu delivered in the first test around the field Sent from my Nexus 9 using Tapatalk

In numbers the backrow may be "light" but the Pooper play above their weight It will be interesting to see how Timu develops, on Saturday, he worked hard defensively and at ruck time, but was invisible with ball in hand - it was like he was channeling Hanigan

Never had a concern about a winger pinning his ears back and going for the corner, it is what you want wingers to do.
