    RWC 2011 - Quarter final 3 : Springbokke v. Wallabies CLOSED

Well we've seen how "tough" the fitness tests are by the Wallabies trainers - Palu and Mitchell!

    RWC 2011 - Quarter final 3 : Springbokke v. Wallabies CLOSED

There's two issues I have with McCabe starting of Barnes and its nothing to do with a kicking game. 1) Barne's experience - With such a green backline and team and a playmaker who doesn't adapt well to forwards going backwards, we need someone to guide them in the game. 2) Two working...

    RWC 2011 - Quarter final 3 : Springbokke v. Wallabies CLOSED

But how do we know that McCabe's shoulder wont be affecting his game? More importantly, McCabe's easy to shut down in attack as shown by the Irish. Because he runs so high don't worry about going for the tackle, simply hold him up and you'll get the ball turned over. The African centre pairing I...

Wallabies at the Rugby World Cup 2011

I'd swap DK at the 50th minute. Gives him 10 minutes to take the sting out of the opposition from the half and you would think that at this stage of the competition around the 60 - 65 minute is when the game opens up! The bigger question is not when Deans will use the bench but IF!

Wallabies vs Russia - last game before the QFs!

I've got absolutely not problem with Baxter coming in. He's certainly got enough experience to help get us through the finals as a loose head prop! Holmes would be the only other person I'd consider coming in right now, Daley and Cowan are way too green and shocking horrible at scrummaging.

Wallabies vs Russia - last game before the QFs!

The only positives I can see in that team is the inform tighthead prop has the number 3 on him and we have Cooper, Barnes and AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) all paired up!

Wallabies vs Russia - last game before the QFs!

I would have thought there would be a greater risk of McCabe or Horne re-injuring themselves than a replacement not making the 22. Plus Hornes injury appears to be banking on us making the Semis in the first place and being in the 22. After this weekend it's do or die so who's to say Horne will...

Wallabies vs Russia - last game before the QFs!

But they'll more than likely have Barnes on oneside of them with AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) on the otherside. Thats a good amount of experience to be surrounded by. He carved up against Canada only a few weeks ago (who are better than the Russians) and he just finished playing in the Brisbane Premier Club GF. To me...

Wallabies vs Russia - last game before the QFs!

Just a wild suggestion (with Fainga'a will possibly be ruled out in mind). Why not have Burgess starting at 9 with Genia at 10. It'd allow Cooper to move to 15 and Barnes to stay at 12.

    Ewen McKenzie Q & A - Top 10 Questions

As a coach, what runs through your/his head when deciding when to make substitutions in a game. Is this something thats incorporated in the gameplan before game day or does he make a decision as its "played in front of him"?

    RWC Wallabies v USA - 23 September

If we're wanting "full-strength" teams then I don't see why anyone is giving Rocky the 6 jersey. Higgers showed more fire in his belly and was more noticeable in the 9 minutes he was on than Rocky did in 80 minutes. Bar that change, I'd have Swats team.

    RWC - Wallabies v Ireland - 17th September 2011

Did you see who we played in that team? Dean Mumm for crying out loud! Team who played Munster != Wallaby team of 2011

Surprise Call up of Matt Giteau to RWC Squad

I always thought Deans announced the team on a Thursday? Given its only a 6 day turn around, I wouldn't really expect that many coaches to name their team more than two days before a game.

Sheridan out for the World Cup. Wallabies scrum starting to look a lot better

We're one injury away from looking very 2007ish!

Digby Ioane with suspected broken hand

So rest him for the remaining pool matches? Thats what, 3/4 weeks of rest, surely thats plenty of time for a thumb to be right to go? Hell, just take leaf out of Jone Tawake's book and show some real balls!

Digby Ioane with suspected broken hand

Uh, if it was broken why didn't he come off? A swollen thumb? He probably jarred it or someone stood on it. Plus he's been tweeting so doesn't sound like he's even done something to his thumb.

    RWC - Wallabies v Italy - 11th September 2011

I don't see how your happy to throw Horne into the mix who hasn't played that well in Gold and more importantly, he hasn't played in Gold in what, 18 months if not longer? Mitchell and Barnes are seperate cases, they've both played a lot of Super rugby and International rugby, so I can...

    RWC - Wallabies v Italy - 11th September 2011

I'm not too sure Rocky had a strong game. He had an ok game, but nothing above average. There was plenty of times he did great work but didn't look to draw and pass to the support that was with him. The biggest problem will be what happens when we need to go down a 4;3 bench split. Will...

    RWC - Wallabies v Italy - 11th September 2011

Other than AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)'s try, I thought he had a very quiet game and was very very ordinary under the high ball.

    John Eales Medal

Hmmmm I'm still trying to reason with myself whether I'd miss the World Cup team announcement as well.
