    Reds 2023

~2013 through ~2018 was absolutely dire I think rock bottom was the fake-fan-noise Volvo rev counter though...

I'm not suggesting it is, nor should be - I'm saying that removing a popular leader from any team/organisation can have a negative influence, which is at odds with the impact of a new coach @stillmissit suggested

The players are clearly very supportive of Rennie. I can’t see giving him the chop improving morale / feeling within the group.

It's also worth noting that the membership price this year is reduced, to reflect the two games up in The 'Ville - members aren't paying more and getting less

    Refereeing decisions

We're seeing a level of access to footage and decision making - as well as a barrage of others' opinions on those decisions - that we've never had before, thanks to social media and on-demand content. The increased questioning of, for lack of a better word, 'decision makers' isn't unique to just...

Wallabies v Wales, Principality Stadium, Sun 27th November, 2.15am AEST

That last 20min period really was one for the ages. Wallabies again showing that they seem to play to the level of their opposition.

Both billed as 1.86m, Wright ‘officially’ 9kg heavier

Surely it can't be as simple as blokes putting in too many overs?

Are you still considered a virgin after 5min experience? That's a game changer for some of us!

Fuck the photos Gordon has of Rennie must be pretty damn good

Preseason work usually starts in the previous term for the older and/or higher-grade teams, but a rugby camp held in June/July holidays kicks the season off for most. A bit school-dependent too

    Australian Rugby / RA

Yeah, but usually there's significant overlap between club and school seasons. Excl. any trials, 9 rounds for 8 GPS games (one vs each other school + a bye where some schools/teams will schedule a game against a non-GPS school)

Nah, 4 terms = 4 different sets of sports (aside from preseason stuff). Rugby used to be in Term 2, but was moved to better accomodate a large number wanting to play both soccer and rugby, and also to make field logistics easier

Makes the decision to switch rugby from a Term 2 sport (competing with soccer) to a Term 3 sport (competing with basketball) in QLD GPS schools a bit interesting.

Most teams have it in their arsenal, but often with variations or will clear it from the maul early. The Brumbies have mastered the maul in the <10m line out situation, so understandingly have become reliant on it; the Wallabies have not, and yet continue to persist with often little effect.

No chance of this going away while the team is primarily Brumbies and under the influence of McKellar. It's a shame that we rarely seem to be able to convert.

Didn't realise the AFL released a detailed injury report every year - more sports should follow suit. Transparency is nothing but a good thing.

I agree, more just a comment that it'd be good to have the option to have a genuine centre - especially when it seemed like we were preparing for this exact situation. Petaia hasn't set the world on fire with his opportunities in the centres (though hopefully last week gave him some confidence)...

    Wallabies 2023

Yeah that was my thought, hence the question - particularly if there hasn't been a change in program or personnel leading into the '22 season that they can attribute it to.

    Wallabies 2023

Did it seem like they'd identified something specific, or just decided that there must be an issue due to the number of injuries, and that a change to personnel was logical?
