That initial tap back from Foley to Ikitau really is the stuff of nightmares.

After Foketi got injured a few weeks ago, Rennie mentioned injury cover coming from Aus to join the squad. It's interesting that this didn't eventuate - Stewart, Henry, or Keunzle would be pretty handy to have right about now. Henry in particular has shown that he can fill the hard-running...

A tour / year(s) of the Wallabies being their own worst enemy wears a bit thin after a while. So often so close, but so far.

My comment extends to Fisher as well - in any high performance environment, a diverse range of input and guidance is beneficial. For a large % of Wallabies players to be receiving the same coaching oversight at both club and national level seems like, if nothing else, a missed opportunity -...

Yeah, you're right about both of those - but I hate the thought of rewarding Fainga'a after last match. With Ikitau, he's killing it at 13 and I'd be hesitant to mess with his mojo.

And yet the Wallabies forward pack is consistently losing the battle at the breakdown, and three of those players you flagged - Slipper, Fainga'a, Swain - are consistently three of the worst offenders when it comes to discipline issues. Might not be the worst idea for someone else to give them...

    A couple of wildcard entries to keep Monday interesting. Squad's looking thin - thank god there's only one more test. 1. Slipper 2. L Lonergan 3. 7As (Allan Ala'alatoa) 4. Frost 5. Neville 6. Holloway 7. Hooper 8. Samu 9. McDermott 10. Lolesio 11. Wright 12. Petaia 13. Ikitau 14. Nawaqanitawase 15. Campbell 16...

Forced changes this week of: Valetini Kellaway Tupou Perecki Paisami Struth. You'd also assume (hope) Gordon out for McDermott. Fainga'a too in an ideal world, but the question is whether someone is available.

If we can do that, at least I know I'd get a semi

    Refereeing decisions

Anyone else think the neck rolls could be a (poorly executed) symptom of players trying to mitigate risk of shoulder to head contact in rucks?

    Reds 2023

Pretty devastating that Tupou likely won't get what smart money suggests will be his final season at the Reds. Can anyone confirm if the achilles injury is the same leg that he's had the calf issues with for some time?

True to form for the Wobs, I'm expecting his achilles to blow shortly after he comes on

He played well, but I'm pretty sure he was still warned by the ref to tone it down. He's definitely our #1 pick at halfback, but with the target on his back as a result of previous indiscretions, he (and those in his ear around him) shouldn't even be letting it get to that stage.

And SH teams have overwhelmingly played under NH refs if I recall? Consistency of interpretation is something that WR (World Rugby) needs to put some massive work into - especially moving into a World Cup year

In the context of selection though, McDermott offers more than Gordon, who should’ve been dropped for last week’s stupid yellow alone. Baffling imo

It was mentioned in the other thread and I've been working out the best method to launch myself towards the sun ever since.

Don't think it'll happen, but I'd be having Nawaqanitawase over Wright.
