    Boks v Blecks match thread

The Boks made good inroads into the New Zealand defence, especially in the second half, right up the middle. What they lacked was the firepower to finish it off.

All Blacks Look Dizzy In Head..Troubles Ahead..

:lmao: I'm sure we'll read much worse in the coming week. Unless we're Dan Carter.

All Blacks Look Dizzy In Head..Troubles Ahead..

Articles 'motivating' teams are like the mockers gods: a fiction. I can hardly imagine Dan Carter getting Richie McCaw to read it to him and then getting all motivated to win instead of not bothering.

Benn Robinson Ruled Out for the 2011 Season with Injury

We're certainly getting into the realms of the very lucky at 5% - and that's just stable, not 'stable enough for elite sports'.

Benn Robinson Ruled Out for the 2011 Season with Injury

We actually spoke about it being an old injury. Weird.

Benn Robinson Ruled Out for the 2011 Season with Injury

It probably is very rare. I remember when Fatcat made the initial statement on it that 25% (?) of people have functional stability without an ACL. If Robinson has actually been able to do elite sport, I'd hypothesize (that is to say, guess) that it could be result of some extreme soft tissue...

Benn Robinson Ruled Out for the 2011 Season with Injury

He may have been playing without an ACL for years.

As an Aussie I wouldn't mind seeing Toeva selected. He's good at Super Rugby level but in the past has been flaky in tests where the pressure is greater. The Wallabies would target his wing, I think, by running at it as opposed to kicking to it.

    Berrick Barnes

    Yes, of course it is.

Indeed. McCabe passed short to Moore who made the long pass to Elsom. Cooper would have just passed it to Elsom. But in this case 'through the hands' worked fine.

All Blacks Look Dizzy In Head..Troubles Ahead..

The ABs backs are really very different to the Wallabies backs now. Henry's selections are unapologetically conservative. We on the other hand have no choice - our good players are who they are. Now we get to test all those truisms about conservatism winning World Cups.

    Tri Nations Game 3 New Zealand v Australia - Saturday 6 August 2011 - 3N2011

I'm a Burgess fan, so I think we'd go fine, although we'd have to play a different style of game in parts since Burgess obviously lacks Genia's pass. But he brings other advantages to the game. The big problem with Burgess, bigger than his pass, is consistency. He is far more likely to have an...

    PdV Lying Like a Bugger?

I never heard anything about that?!

RWC 2011 France or England? (If we make the semis.)

Good attitude Rebel raiser! Payback time. 3-0 with a Ben Alexander drop goal in extra time would do me. A 45-5 rout would do me even better. Of course, it all depends on the forwards.

    Returns from injury

For some reason, I've always associated the droogs from Clockwork Orange with the England rugby team. Let's hope Drew's aversion therapy turns out better!

Wallaby tight five - boys or men?

Even our depth is starting to look strong with players returning.

I guess the point I was making is that 13 is a problem position for the Reds. Chambers hasn't kicked on. Fainga'a is a 12. The other candidates would also be playing out of position. I can understand why Tranquility would desire a first-rate 13, and he did specify 'fully fit'.

    Tri Nations Game 3 New Zealand v Australia - Saturday 6 August 2011 - 3N2011

Last week according to lots of people it was Robinson going down that makes it impossible for us to win. Now we've absorbed the Robinson injury and it's Genia we can't win without. The fact is that we have a good team and are capable of winning games without individual players, although losing...

    PdV Lying Like a Bugger?

If a group of consenting men wish to go to a camp and remove their clothes then who are we to judge?

Wallaby tight five - boys or men?

I think rather than stats, one should instead look at the large number of very young world-class players we have.
