Yep, no doubt, but couldn't find anything formal other than 'seeking and following advice from expert medical staff' - which is a good thing of course, but I was more looking for blanket rules (e.g. 3 concussions within 6mo is a mandatory 3month stand down)

Turns out he's signed til '24, but it wouldn't surprise me if the last 18mo have knocked his confidence and he's a bit disenfranchised. With the number of young 10s coming through, and Eddie's apparent fondness of them, it'll be a tough gig getting back to a Wobs jersey. Hope he stays, but...

I'm sure Moreton Bay Council is stoked they pumped millions into the redevelopment of the stadium for a team that wants to distance themselves from Redcliffe, literally and metaphorically, as much as possible.

He's just been listening to Gus Gould too much

3 within 12 months is not good - do the RA or WR (World Rugby) concussion policies have guidance around multiple concussions within a certain period?

Factor in the odd long-term injury, which 10s seem to attract, and there's almost enough room. Noah to Japan post WC is definitely a good shout though, especially if Eddie gives him the cold shoulder.

There were 700 tackles made in that Souths Cronulla game - a typical rugby game is half of that. Combined with the fact that league is running wider channels, has two fewer players, and has more multi-man tackles, it's no surprise that backs are making more tackles.

Eddie's said that he's looking for 'workers' - I imagine that makes it hard to go past McReight. Not saying the others don't rip in, but McReight is ever-present. Definitely not short of options, though.

It's a global game, but the vast majority of brand deals are local to the region/nation for which they play - the exception again being if you're one of the top players internationally and have global recognition. Within Aus, an NRL star has more value to most brands than a Wallabies star, and...

Significant international brand deals are true for maybe the top 10 players in world rugby. If you're playing the odds, you're far more likely to pick up a good-sized deal in Aus as an NRL star

Reasonably, but BGS is considerably closer

In terms of playing contract - absolutely. But as TGoR said, the third-party income for an NRL 'star' could top that up pretty significantly. Also important not to write off the value of comfort/confidence. 750k+ in a game where you already have a track record of performing at the highest...

Could be a nice debut event for the revamped Ballymore... we'd then have a chance of a sellout too

SRP (Super Rugby Pacific) 2023 General Chat

I'm pretty sure they said Dunedin at the end of the broadcast - although this was a 'correction' after Queenstown was suggested, so they could've just been throwing names around

Fastest ever Fijian-born cross-code player to 8 Super Rugby tries?

Yep - for mine it looks like overseas players could be listed behind his hand in red, under where it seems to say 'OS'

I wouldn’t think having one of his most solid and longest performances for the Reds is the end of it…

    Reds 2023

I think I'd take Jock over Vuni/Daugunu, with one of them moving to the bench. Jock's ability to slot in as a very effective fullback would nicely compliment Petaia's most impactful style of play at 15 (i.e., getting hands on the ball) imo

JOC (James O'Connor) played well in his 15min - felt like he might’ve found his spark again. He seemed really energised around the park and just excited to be out there. A selection headache, but a good problem to have.
