Wallabies v Pumas - Saturday 17 September, nib Stadium Perth

Note the comments before the first tables. The Ruck Stats are ONLY the actual involvement at the Breakdown - after the ruck has been formed. They do not include the ball carrier, nor the tackler/s. They do include the player/s who may have been part of the tackle but have regained their feet. My...

Simmons played a full game and Coleman only 60 minutes. Arnold did very little in his 20 minutes. I still reckon that Tackling and Ruck Involvements should be taken as a given for Forwards. Hopefully pick & drives will continue to remain part of our game. It is disappointing that some...

G'day Strewthcobber Highly recommend ESPN Scrum's stats or Vodacom phone App (which generally agree). FoxSports Stats appears to be rubbish. However, happy to give the Top 5 Forwards for each team: Wallabies - Ball Carries Hooper - 2/31 (2CB, 1DB) McMahon - 2/20 (1CB,DB) TPN - 1/19 (1CB)...

Wallabies v Pumas - Saturday 17 September, nib Stadium Perth

Ruck Involvements by Main Player Groups Fairly even ruck contribution from Pumas player groups. Pumas Back Row mostly supporting ball carriers. High work rate shown by the Wallabies Back Row. Some improvement in involvements from the Wallabies Front Row. Fairly subdued involvement from...

Wallabies v Pumas - Saturday 17 September, nib Stadium Perth

Ruck Involvements - Wallabies v Pumas - Perth Quite an amazing win considering that the Wallabies had only 33% Possession (27%/40%) and 32% Territory (24%/43%). After the Wallabies opened with 3 tries in 21 minutes, the Pumas countered with a high intensity game with 36 Offloads (Wallabies...

Michael Cheika is an absolute genius. If he can get everybody on this forum confused or talking about his selections just imagine the chaos in the Argentina camp!

Add Ben McCalman to that list. After the RWC he went straight to Japan. He missed the Force's opening 4 games and then took another 4 games before he started having any impact on the field. So many of our Test players are simply looking tired before the opening whistle.

NRC Round 3 - Western Sydney Rams v Perth Spirit

While collecting my ruck stats for the Perth Spirit I also collected some stats on Will Skelton's 59 minutes: 9 Total Ruck Involvements - 5 Attack/4 Defence. 5/6 tackles (83%) 6 carries for ~15m. 1 LOW. Mostly stood at back of the Line Out. He was too slow to be where the ball was and...

    Wallabies v Springboks - Suncorp, Brisbane, 10th September 2016

G'day Scrubber You can get these from the ESPN site which I reckon are the most accurate. they also agree with the stats on the Vodacom phone app. Speaking for the Forwards. Pocock at 11 carries for 18m had almost double the carry m of the Wallabies next - Hooper with 8 carries for 10m. The...

Ruck Involvements - Wallabies v Boks - Brisbane (Cont) Similar distribution of ruck involvements across the main player groups. Boks Front Rowers more involved than Wallabies – mainly due to efforts of Strauss. The Wallabies appeared ineffective in placing the Boks ball carriers under...

    Wallabies v Springboks - Suncorp, Brisbane, 10th September 2016

Ruck Involvements - Wallabies v Boks - Brisbane Here's the numbers. A very different distribution from the games against the ABs. Not a lot of comments due to time constraints but I'm interested in comments from what others may see in them. Remember: 1. Early means 1st or 2nd of player’s...

Nor should they be. It's not very often that we see a player (Pocock) get heavily involved in 34% (54/161) of the Total Rucks of both sides in a test match. I get the feeling that we'll only miss Pocock when he's gone. (Especially with Gill OS)
