    2012 6 Nations

BOD is in the Leinster team to play the Ospreys tomorrow night. Good to see him back, will be interesting to see how good he is once he has some games under his belt and is back up to speed.

They'll certainly be in the mix and it being in England will be a bonus for them, even if they wont get preference for games being held in Cardiff. However it's hard to look past New Zealand until we see how they cope with the wave of retirements in the next few years.

    Argentina

Posted this originally in another thread but this would be a better home for it. Would like to hear your opinion on this Cave Dweller: Cave Dweller that raises a question that may need it's own thread, which is, how will S15 be affected by Argentina's participation in the rugby championship...

How does this help Australian Rugby.

Cave Dweller that raises a question that may need it's own thread, which is, how will S15 be affected by Argentina's participation in the rugby championship. With a lot of Argentina's players playing in Europe, over time there may be a push for these players to move back to the SHs. Taking into...

Yes SuperGrover is correct Connacht, for the moment and at least a few more years, have different rules to the other 3 provinces. In Connacht there's a move to change it from being a development province which in principle meant giving young talent a go earlier than they would at the other 3...

    Digby banned for five weeks

Pretty sure you can't appeal when the ban has been reduced due to the player admitting the offence early in the process. Article was very biased and not really helped by the quotes to back up his opinion both coming from League players, one of which freely admitted his ignornace of the laws of...

    2012 6 Nations

Tomas O'Leary has moved to London Irish from next season. Good move for him since his mistake in the WC warp ups he's dropped right down the pecking order for Ireand and the ermegence of Murray meant it would be dificult to win back a spot with Ireland with Murray starting ahead of him at...

    2012 6 Nations

Sad news for Irish rugby. Jerry Flannery has annouced his retirement due to a back injury. Yes he was a bit of a dick and got involved in stuff he shouldn't have but he was a hell of a player both for Munster and Ireland. The gulf in class between Rory Best and the rest of the hookers in...

    2012 6 Nations

As expected in may quaters Dan Lydiate has been voted player of the 6Ns. Well done to him he deserves it for such consistent high level performances. Just hope it doesn't turn out to be a curse for him for the next year like it did for SOB. Sexton came 2nd with Parisse 3rd. How the hell did...

    2012 6 Nations

He was officially named captain on 21th April 2009, the same day the squad was annouced.

    Digby banned for five weeks

The big problem with the game currently is that it is seen as a professional sport. This is only partially true, players and coaches at the top level are professional and to a lesser extent so are refs. But those on these panel, in the IRB and in national associations still have the amateur...

How does this help Australian Rugby.

Agree that it's important to have a balance between development and being competitive. For years here in Ireland Connacht was seen as the development province which actually meant they were given a mix of young players and older players not wanted by the other provinces. Now they are becoming...

    2012 6 Nations

I'd had Botes to that list but since it's underperformers maybe not as he hasn't proven he can play above that level in an international.

    Digby banned for five weeks

I think 5 weeks (taking into account increase for previous record and reduction for early plea) is about right for that tackle. My issue with the incosistency is that the other tackles should have got longer bans. No place for these tackles in the game.

    2012 6 Nations

English Media are so predictable: Step 1: At start of 6Ns question Lancaster's ability to coach at international level and say RFU should appoint a coach with more experience. Step 2: Praise England team to the high heavens for their performance in the 6Ns but especailly in this game. Step 3...

    2012 6 Nations

Watched the Ferris incident serveral time on the RTÉ website now and the other 2 players involved in the ruck where Ferris is bitten are Dickson and Barritt. Both Dickson and Barrett leave the ruck once Ireland move the ball. There's is one England player lying in the ruck on top of Ferris' arm...

    2012 6 Nations

Have watched the incident involving Ferris again. It was reported at 27:48 on the game clock, but it seems to happen at a ruck at 27:17. Can't make out the English players involved as the camera switches just as the players are getting up. It looks like Dylan Hartley and one other player I can't...

    2012 6 Nations

As for the biting incident Ferris and a few other Irish players complained to Owens and the game paused for a few minutes. Owens said he didn't see anything and couldn't do anything about it which is fair enough. If this were a HEC game or any other game shown on sky I would expect there to be...

    2012 6 Nations

Here's the video of it Querty. Clark is the 6, pay close attention to him from the time the whistle blows. I think a year would be getting off lightly for something like this. He'll probably get about 6 months reduced to 4 due to previous good record. No one every seems to get anywhere close to...

    2012 6 Nations

Agree on Jones but he's a good player to have on the bench and shows the strength of your BR. The problem Ireland have is we generally don't make many changes which means that the BR can go stale. If Ireland had picked on form this year Heaslip and O'Brien should have been fighting it our for...
