Australia A - Back on the Cards

That easy money opportunity seems to be tightening.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

It's a silly time to be playing pro competitive rugby. But that doesn't mean that it hasn't been required. It will be what it has to be but you wouldn't choose it if you didn't have to.

    Wallabies 2023

With limited positions available from overseas, and then they have limited time in training with the team before games, you need to select players who can slot into the exact same game plan and not require further team and/or tactic changes. Koroibete, Kerevi, and even Quade pretty much do this...

    Wallabies 2023

Of course it is bestowed by "the internet". It comes from a supportive view from fans of the game and social media is as good as anywhere else to gauge it. And that in no means that it isn't earned.

    New Zealand Rugby Team Watch

As a WB fan, this works for me, but cripes. Kiwis are meant to be professionals at this game.

Clearly I don't follow the detail of All Black particularly closely, but the demise of Plumtree Mooar seems odd. I always thought that Plumtree was quality. Isn't this all a bit weird? Surely at this point the HC is removed and a new guy looks to who he wants?

That contradiction spoke pretty loudly. At the same time, if there is (or has been) something going on, it looks like stuff is happening to try and get it under control.

Yes, I agree mostly. I do think they have broader issues to think through [edit: as Adam has suggested] but any position knocking back his player requests is not supportive.

Phil, I mostly like your stuff mate, but honestly, that is an assinine statement. You might argue as to whether RA are effective but there is no way that they would knowingly and actively seek failure.

    Argentina v Australia Sun, 7/8/2022, 5:10 am

Wallabies kick off their Rugby Championship with the first of a two test tour in Argentina with Cheka coaching the Pumas. Early start but not so early that most won't get up for it.

    Still coaching Balmain isn't he?

That's because he entered Super a lot older than most players, coming out of club in an injury top up. And proved himself. Do you actually listen to the things you say? Jesus, "just" Digby at 12. And with plenty of experience there. Tends to target hitting the D not the gaps (when did Digby do...

Solidly league for Logan. I'm less sure of Ipswich and they have wanted a professional team for ages.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

What we saw through the NRC was a need for the QRU and academy to be involved across both teams. I don't think I'd want to see that arrangement and professionalism lost. Both teams would need to be under the QRU, which is obvious, but in Qld I suspect it means more direct involvement than in...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

I could be wrong, but I just don't see that working in Qld. The Reds are a state brand, end of. You can't have a second team in Qld with the first being the Reds. If you have two teams in Qld then neither of those teams can wear the state brand. Or actually they both wear the Koala but neither...

    Wallabies 2023

That seems accurate. But if we are at a quality level of mid top 10, we need to be managing games against 4/5 and 6/7 as if they are the knock out comp that is reality. We seem to be approaching these games as if we are top 5 not top 10. Letting Kerevi out was dubious, discussion of also...

    Super Rugby 2022

NZRU and their self awareness is an apt observation. Ditto the starting time frame - if we are deciding to wait for NZRU to catch up and proactively contribute to our non-negotiables. At the end of the day the issue is just not of NZ making and there will always be an initial response of, "come...
