    Not nothing then.

    Force 2023

If you set the game play up with Stewart given a reasonably free take to first receiver from 12, ditto Heggarty from 15, then the 10 should have plenty of flexibility. It's not hard to imagine 10 dropping back in D, with Stewart defending the channel. It's been said often, but it isn't all about...

    Rebels 2023

The Reds do seem to have been a prime target for talent raiders and quite a bit of that has been quite painful, even where it has been above board. More than simply understanding the Red position, I suspect I'd have been irritated if there had been no action. My question is, "Don't RA have a...

Test curse strikes Rennie's WB's again. [When do the injuries start?] Hey Hoops all behind you mate. Big chance for McReight.

    Force 2023

Stewart never shone in the fly half role in Qld. The Reds produce quality players in many positions but 10 isn't one. It is entirely possible that in another environment, if Hamish is given room to develop and make errors, his natural ability will come through. He'd very likely be instantly the...

Yep, and I think the combination with Cheika is awesome. Pumas are going to be tough.

Thought that this Puma scrum had problems against Scotland? The set piece is completely part of the Puma soul. I'd be more bothered about them planning kidology in the front row, but then Tupou is coming on from the bench. I'm thinking it is more about impact at the ruck. Gaining the hard yards...

Interesting that 6/2 wasn't considered, or at least not done, against the English. And now it is on against the Pumas. Sounds like some coaching adaptations happening.

    Reds 2023

Were there players who had top ups and now don't? Not so many Reds in the WB starting line up at the moment.

Really? Thought was a few pages back. BUT game is coming up, team selection tomorrow I think. Let's hang in there.

You seem to suggest we should be anticipating the second coming of Simmons. Wouldn't that be fun.

Not from my view. Fardy is exactly the model I see for Hollaway. Could have performed in the row, but was dynamic enough to play 6. That is exactly the role I see for Holloway. No idea if he will fill those shoes, but an opportunity waits for him.

Interesting. Holloway is the sort of player, if he gets embedded in the WBs (and performs) might allow consideration of Skelton at 5. Not against Argentina, obviously, but could be thought through in Europe.

Unfortunately, yes. Big games and we need both.

    Wallabies 2023

As I said, Phil, I'm not anti the "top down" approach. Just not at the expense of bottom up building. Easily takes priority. Let's build say 8 domestic pro teams with a roughly equal playing field of talent, that are dialled in to their lower supporting tiers and with those tiers neatly meshed...

    Reds 2023

The away jersey is fine. Hint of red highlights, secondary advertisers logos blend in, argument can be made that the primary sponsor's logo stands out (rather than clashing). The red highlights are clear. About all I would say is that I still prefer a more maroon interpretation of red, but it's...

    Wallabies 2023

I am not switched off on the poaching League idea, but seriously, that would be a lot of money to invest in the game at the grass roots, schools or in some better form of closing the gap between Club and Pro. I'm building more trust in the current RA than I've had for ages. I like the bold in...

Agree. But that is utter shite form to drop the comment here. Leave the thread be.

    Reds 2023

From Rugby.com He'd (Fa'agse) play one more match for the Rebels before eventually making the move north as Brad Thorn's men dealt with an injury crisis as Taniela Tupou and Zane Nonggorr were ruled out for the season. That seems odd. Glad to see See back.

If we are running Quade at 10 give him a connection at 9 and 12. And 15. Stick to it. 4, 5 and 6 also with continuity. BUT for cris’sake select your best targeting a W. We need need these two games.
