TT Rd 2 2021: Reds vs Crusaders @ Suncorp Sat 22nd may 7:45pm

I found it odd watching that - mainly because I am really disappointed with the Reds loss, but still enjoyed watching that simply because the Crusaders were brilliant. I know it’s speculative, but I think they would have put 60 on anyone tonight. They were almost completely on point...

    Wallabies 2021

When the Reds played him at 12 he often struggled with his passing when the attack went left to right. Personally I’m not really concerned with his kicking at all. People are comparing him to Nonu. It is worth noting Nonu spent considerable time as a winger, then as a 13 before he was ever...

    Wallabies 2021

That’s about my take KOB. If anything, his kicking puts me off a bit. I get that he is currently playing to the Rebels game plan but he’s always had a bit of a habit of kicking the ball away. And I don’t see him as significantly better than the other kickers. Where To'omua appeals to me is as a...

    Wallabies 2021

It’s not so much Paismi’s kicking at 12 which is a worry to me. It’s his left to right pass.

Are you confusing Ikitau with Simone?

To use your analogy though, the coaching team seems to have made him the square peg by choice. Although I think there is some things which sit completely with Stewart. I am sure he is largely playing the role assigned, but a number of times over the season he has not passed the ball when we’ve...

    Wallabies 2021

Haha - I dunno. So many really passionate supporters have left this forum. I don’t always agree with BRs opinion, but I like his passion and I don’t mind when he throws in the odd hand grenade. And, at the end of day he gets as good as he gives. IMHO we miss guys like Waratah Jesus, Scotty...

It was - he had a shocker - but I think he’s generally been solid this year. He is a bit of an enigma though. For a guy who was previously a 10 he seems to have completely shelved his kicking game and his passing game is very underused as well.

Agree - just more meant in a straight choice between To'omua & Lolesio

    At 12 or 10? At 12, absolutely. At 10 I’d take Lolesio.

    Aussie Player Exodus

My mistake - I thought reports over the off-season were that they extended Moeroa’s contract. Agree in Hunt’s defence - which is a shame because he is used to be a very dependable defender in league, but in rugby he seemed to always want to shoot up and he’d miss the tackle as often as he made it.

    Aussie Player Exodus

I’m having a playful dig at him to be honest. I agree with the view that letting Hunt go wasn’t a great move, especially if it is true that they could have kept him but instead retained Moroa. Along the sliding list of stupid decisions it’s sometimes hard to know where to rank things. But if...

    Aussie Player Exodus

As compared to completely ignoring the need to attract, retain or develop a supply of decent locks???? I’m not sure it’s even in the top 5 to be honest. And I rate Hunt. Or at least I did. Even in his last year at the Tahs (when he was reasonable to be fair) he was a shadow of the player he...

    SRT-T R1: Crusaders v Brumbies

Neville has been excellent - but I’m pretty keen to see how Frost & Swain go together in the row. Expectations should be realistic - especially on Frost at this stage - but plenty to like about these two.

Super Rugby AU Grand Final - Reds v Brumbies - Saturday 8th May 2021

Credit where it’s due - if some of the Aussie cricketers played with a bat that straight they would have had much better test careers

I didn’t know they’d changed that either. I was trying to work out why they didn’t just jam it against the post.

    Wallabies 2021

I know at some point you need to build combinations across super teams, but I wonder if Rennie will be tempted to lean heavily on super rugby combos in the forwards to start. So you could have one test tight 5 or Slipper, Lonergan/Fainga’a, Ala'alatoa, Neville & Swain & another of...

Lol - well, yes. Hopefully he learns from that one. I suspect he’ll have to watch the replay first though.
