    France vs Bokke @ Paris

Biggest problem I see is if there are injuries at 12 or 13 it might get a bit ugly. Both injured would really put the cat amongst the pigeons.

    Wallabies have a drinking problem?

To be acting in a properly responsible fashion in a game week, a player would have to be back at the hotel and no longer consuming alcohol by 10:30 to 11:00pm. Maybe you might cut someone a bit of slack if they were not in the 23, its a long tough tour when you're only carrying tackle bags. I...

    Rebels 2014

Maximising his coin has to involve going overseas. If he stayed in Australia there would be more than ten wingers in front of him for a spot in the Australian team and all he could hope for is a Super contract. One of those will mean you are on above average wages but it won't make you rich.

    Wallabies have a drinking problem?

Two of the players pictured, Israel Folau and Ben Mowen, went back to the team hotel before midnight. The others - Nick Phipps, Nic White, Bernard Foley, Dave Dennis and Adam Ashley-Cooper - stayed out. It is unclear what happened after that. It is believed another group of players dropped into...

That looks like the least disruptive option. The only other one I think that Link will be thinking about is 13. Harris, 14. CFS. Ironically, the one player who will be on a club tour will be Betham, if he doesn't get a start this week.

He got on a plane last night or this morning according to Waratah sources.

    Nucifora GONE!

This Growden gem from February mercifully seems not to have eventuated (or have I just missed an announcement?)

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Palu's skills are as a tight forward, the sort of guy you want bulldozing forward when the ground's a bog and the rain is pouring down. The next WC is in England

You'd have to say that's Jake's first poor decision.

    France vs Bokke @ Paris

Pienaar is a strange case. He never seems to play all that well in the SA jersey but his reputation in European competition suggests he is the best starting 9 in all the leagues. Maybe that's an indictment of the quality of 9's in Europe but I doubt it. More likely is that his style of play...

The article assumes that Tomane and CFS will be the wings without considering that Kuridrani might (IMO certainly) be suspended. If Kuridrani is suspended then it will require a rethink. Poorly written piece by Robinson IMO with not enough clear thinking about the various alternatives based...

    Ireland v Australia, Dublin, 16 Nov 2013

Poor bastards. Linking to stories in the Australian is a problem for me. All I get is the "buy a subscription now" overlay and it'll be a cold day in hell before Rupert gets any of my hard-earned cash.

    Wallabies have a drinking problem?

I think it might have depended which group you were out with. If I read between the lines correctly there were several groups that went out separately. So maybe it was: First group out late and drinking, not drunk: verbal warning Second group out very late and drinking: written warning Third...

So, if AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) and Kuridrani are both out for the next two weeks who would you select at 13?

And next year if Hooper and Pocock are injured you'll be wailing at the fact that Gill has had little time on the field at test level and is being thrown in cold. Do you really think there is such a gulf in class between players in and outside the 23 that we just have to hope our two best...

England v All Blacks, Twickers, 17 November 2013

If this is true then it must be also true that the rest of the NZ pack are also slowing down! In the France game McCaw was first to the ruck more than 10 times (that's being first more times than many of our forwards ever get to rucks).

The match against Wales will be a huge step up from Ireland and if we want to win that then a number of strategic players should be given a week off to freshen up. The squad has large numbers of players who have learnt nothing but how to cheer and carry tackle bags. When given a chance so far...

    Ireland v Australia, Dublin, 16 Nov 2013

One small issue that seems to be unnoticed is that of all the players in the maul try you would have to say that Cummins positioning, body height and body drive were as good as you will see anywhere. You'd think that with an extra 20kg and a few centimetres, he'd make a great 6.
