    Australian Rugby / RA

As I said, it's just a little curious. Glasgow has 3 50k+ Stadiums alone, SFA own Hampden at 52k, Rangers own Ibrox at 51k and Celtic own Paradise at 60k. Taking the adding the Ayrshires and Inverclyde to consider a "West of Scotland", we've also got Rugby Park, 18k owned by Kilmarnock...

    Australian Rugby / RA

Still seems odd to me that Sports here, both at State level and National level never really seemed bothered with the owning a stadium bit, and never manage it successfully enough if they do. Even the Clubs in the AFL, League and all levels of Soccer, by and large still seem to have...

EOYT 2016 - Possibles, probables and general banter

Simone would be a good choice. Biggest argument against that IMO would be that between Kerevi and Hodge, there's two "inexperienced" centers already, who have exposed Super Form, which is ultimately superior to NRC form. Ah well, just, what? 3 weeks of speculation left? Barely enough time.

Carter, Rokocoko , Inhoff - Corticosteroid Use (Allegedly)

Traces of corticosteroids from cortisone injection with appropriate TUEs in place is what's supposedly happening with Carter. Genuinely don't know. Wouldn't surprise me that it would be in France though.

EOYT 2016 - Possibles, probables and general banter

My left field pick is English. He's had an excellent NRC, after a fairly good Super Season. Not that realistic though, between the fake wingers in Hodge & DHP, real wingers in Sefa, Speight & Morahan, plus Koroibete he's well down the pecking order, even after injuries.

EOYT 2016 - Possibles, probables and general banter

Maybe go for the 38 man squad? Two Separate XVs, and a bench. So that nobody who is to start against Ireland plays against the French Barbarians.

    Waratahs 2017

Maybe cap him at Sevens over the Summer if you can't get him in the EOYT squad? Looks like he'd make a good Forward to me.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Presto was a nightmare anyway. No HD, worst library of them Netflix and Stan, poor app, rubbish search function, no chromecast or apple TV support. Stan v Netflix for standard stuff on demand programming plus Foxtel Play and individual sports streaming is good enough for now. Not so sure it'll...

Rugby League players who could have/could make the switch

7 games last season. 6 in the league, 1 in the Challenge Cup. 3 so far this season. I think only one last season was a start. Between Parisse, Alberts, the other South African and a handful of Frenchies, he's gonne have a hard time IMO.

Rugby League players who could have/could make the switch

True, he might be happy in Toulouse/South of France/France/Europe and never plans on coming back to Australia. But an Aussie eligible 196cm 140kg back row playing Union is someone that the ARU and all the Super Sides should at least be making enquiries about. Even if nothing comes of it, it's...

NRC Rnd 7: Rising v Rays

Both sides will know exactly what they need to do to get their best position on the table. Should work out well.

Rugby League players who could have/could make the switch

Think he had a 5 year deal to start off with, which would leave him off contract at the end of the current season?

    Melbourne Rising Season 2016

Colby and little red back. Lloyd named at 10. No Toby. 1. Cruze Ah-Nau (Footscray/Melbourne Rebels) 2. Pat Leafa (Box Hill/Melbourne Rebels) 3. Tyrel Lomax (Tuggeranong Vikings (ACT)/Melbourne Rebels) 4. Sam Jeffries (Melbourne University/Melbourne Rebels) 5. Steve Cummins...

Pumas vs Wallabies - Sunday 9th October @ Twickenham

More that, if he's expected to be fit for 3 or more Tests, why wouldn't you send him over with the original squad, particularly given it's expected to be slightly larger than normal.

Pumas vs Wallabies - Sunday 9th October @ Twickenham

Even 6 weeks out means McMahon is back for France. 4 weeks is the start of the EOYT, and 5 weeks is playing against my lot. If you take a bigger squad rather than the standard 32ish, a Jordy Reid or Jack Dempsey is maybe worth taking as a back up option and to play against my lot and the...

    Rugby 7s general chat

Nice to see Whitey get a go, only 24 ATM, lots of time on his side to become a really good ref.

    NRC onwards and upwards

A full length reserve/colts comp is a bit of a pipe dream IMO. But maybe something along the lines of a U19 tournament? Say across two weekends, (maybe the school holidays?) the NRC teams all send an U19 team (with perhaps up to 3 U20 guests) to Sydney. Standard Knock out tournament, with...

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

I think you almost couldn't afford to do otherwise. Almost any other team in either state would struggle to make any inroads commercially.

VRU Dewar Shield 2016 - and other comps

Compulsory Colts I can understand from both structural and attempting to increase player retention POVs. 4ths? Fuck off.
