For a position like halfback, it wouldn't surprise me if those identified as the top 4 or 5 would have some level of top-up - especially when they have already played a number of tests

If Tate isn't on some amount of Rugby AU top-up I'll eat my hat

You know this for a fact? When their financial report for '22 hasn't been released yet? And after they maintained a profit in '21? I understand your concerns around the viability of expansion, and it's fair to call out the poor crowds, but you can't just make up evidence to support your arguments.

When did 59% become almost 100%?

    Round 7: Reds v Brumbies - Friday April 7 @ Suncorp 7:35pm

The Brumbies, clear underdogs, will have a hard time shutting down the Reds’ pack this week. Reds by 15

To the Reds specifically or Super?

Not a troll - 'ball and all' tackles are taught to a) slow down the ball; b) give the opportunity to rip the ball; c) hold the player up to form a maul Their effectiveness as a 'tackle' in its purest sense can of course be limited, but that isn't their primary purpose.

This is just the result of a lot of talent being brought in within the space of 2yrs; most have been 2-3yr contracts, which is pretty standard and a length of time that benefits both players and clubs alike imo You're not going to sign anyone except marquee players on 4yr+ contracts

I've had others corroborate the rumour that Kalani is very much looking to move, so could be one for the rumoured gone column

Last week’s game aside, his defensive work this season has, largely, been very very solid

Yep, absolutely. It’s been said before, but one of Thorn’s biggest strengths is a knack for young talent identification and their initial development. We cannot afford to let someone like that go. The flip side being that Thorn, understandably, may not want to take a step ‘down’ the ranks

Doran reporting Vunivalu to be dropped (unsurprising) and Creighton to come in for O'Connor (surprising). Also an interesting little note at the end when discussing Thorn's future, saying the Reds are hoping to keep him 'in their coaching system' - but not necessarily as head coach...

I agree it's too soon for Wobs - maybe not exposure to a training camp though - BUT the guy seems to be thriving under the pressure. Even among those touted as teen prodigies, he seems a very special find. An Aus A cap can't come soon enough

    Reds v Crusaders - Round 6

I’m not sure we watched the same game - I thought his footwork into contact and efforts to hit space, not players, were excellent. Ultimately the channels where he typically operates will encounter more players than space, so he can’t be expected to make a break every carry - especially when...

Fuck me murphy is a wet blanket. Trying to quicken the game up by a short arm that takes 2min rather than wait another couple of seconds for Tate to put the ball in
