    I think there's definitely a cloud over his match fitness, given recent interviews, but even 20min of a 150kg Tupou off the bench is a pretty tantalising prospect.

    The advantages have been noticeably shorter this year, particular in the red zone which seemed to be never-ending until a try or an error. That hasn't been the case this season - observed most recently in the final stanza of Chiefs v Reds.

    Most of those guys seem like they’re in the studio more often than not? No doubt there’s a bit of perception at play and the reality is that it’s spread out pretty evenly amongst the group.

    Associated costs aside, there’s often a personal element left out of these discussions - the drain of travel on the commentators and broadcast teams. I’m sure most of them prefer to be able to have a ‘home base’ (even if Sydney isn’t their actual home).

    Interesting stat was noted during the first half - the Reds' line out is the most successful in the comp at 91%. I know the bulk of that has been on Faessler's throwing (who wasn't the problem earlier), but it's a far cry from seasons past.
