    Waratahs 2020

Point taken. The fact he was a PONI on both sides bodes well for him

    Waratahs 2020

Yeah, he did. Obviously he can pack down either side. He’s just young and needs to mature at a professional level in the front row. Packing down against an u20 isn’t the same as a 10 year veteran on either side of the scrum. I Just felt it was harsh on him as he was establishing himself as a...

    Waratahs 2020

I’m with you. Plays his first season as a starter last year at LH, gets his first test cap at LH. Tahs don’t replace a warhorse like Kepu and ask him to move to a harder position. He’s made a good fist of it, and if with Tupou or AAA get injured he’d be close to next up. But it still seems a bit...

    Waratahs 2021

Agreed. Always though we just needed someone to bend the line and give us front foot ball. A player like dempsey is more effective after a quick recycle than as a battering ram. It also opens up options for Harrison to pick holes in the oppositions defence. And not a grubber in sight (From him...

Super Rugby Au Round 9 - Rebels vs Waratahs, 7:15pm Sat 29th August

It won’t come down to a coin toss. That being said, If the rebels score 5/6 tries next week and only win by 3 or even lose they wouldn’t deserve their spot in the finals.

Super Rugby Au Round 9 - Rebels vs Waratahs, 7:15pm Sat 29th August

Swinton’s penalty (and thankfully for Tahs fans not a sin bin/send off) was compounded by the fact that it gave the rebels the ball in the Waratahs half when we were chasing a bonus point.

Super Rugby Au Round 9 - Rebels vs Waratahs, 7:15pm Sat 29th August

I have liked how Moroa simplified our attack and made it more direct.

Don’t get replacing HJH (Harry Johnson-Holmes) and keeping Robertson on. It’s a make or break game

Super Rugby AU Round 8 - Brumbies vs Waratahs @ Canberra Stadium - Saturday 22 August @ 7.15pm

Out or not, I always wonder why players don’t wear grass green coloured boots.

Super Rugby AU Round 8 - Brumbies vs Waratahs @ Canberra Stadium - Saturday 22 August @ 7.15pm

Surely a clumsy challenge like that is akin to a high tackle where the ball carrier slips and gets hit high. If a player is put in a dangerous position, whether intentionally or not, it should be a penalty.

    Wallabies 2020

I think Whites getting a lot of talk as test half as we haven’t seen him play enough of late. We’ve been watching all the other options playing for the whole comp, it’s easy to poke holes in someone that’s played a few matches as opposed to someone who’s played 30 minutes. McDermott was...

    Waratahs 2021

Agreed. We need someone to bend the line, Dempsey will be more effective with his footwork off fast, front foot ball. As with the team in general.

    Wallabies 2020

Maddocks could be great. A more traditional fullback in he runs good lines and links with his teammates from the back. He’s also got a big boot. His drawing of two defenders in the lead up to Dempseys try yesterday was nice. He just needs to get his confidence and consistency in order.

    Waratahs 2021

A lot of what is being said of Staniforth now has been said of hanigan for years now. I don’t think it’s particularly staniforths fault we don’t have a powerful ball runner in our pack. He has a big engine and puts in a lot of work. Yes, he could carry stronger but he’s never going to bend the...

Skyhooks! But then the soccer player/coach from Scotland was Strackan.

State of the Union (origin) discussion

If this concept was for anything, I would prefer it be something to bring $ and interest to Australian rugby. I’m not sure what concept would work, but I don’t think a trial match is what’s looked for. If you’re a professional athlete your week to week form should be how you’re selected for...

State of the Union (origin) discussion

Back then they picked two teams from a Sydney comp of 12 teams (I think a few even made it from country rugby league) and a slightly weaker Brisbane comp of 8 or so, with a majority of those players being eligible for one of the two teams. We only have 5 teams, to rugbys credit there are players...

State of the Union (origin) discussion

SoO in league is a different beast. You’re pooling players from multiple teams into two teams. This concept is more like the RL World Cup, where they just shuffle the players around and shoehorn anyone decent into a side if they don’t make their first choice. I understand the desire to create...

HJH (Harry Johnson-Holmes) to the bench?
