    Wallabies V Ireland, Brisbane

It's under the sticks when they're taking the conversion that really matters. Come out firing, score the next points, take back the momentum.

Lance - that's an interesting one. Any brown parcels of money?

    Nude rugby

It was a game of two halves. The opposition had the ball in hand for most of the first half, but then we went a bit more direct in the second which soon brought results. The opposition went wide but constantly turned over, which made it easier for our big boys to go down the middle of the park...

Boks vs Diveball People (Italy for some)

Thanks Nusadan, no, I held up my end of the scrum nicely.

http://www.smh.com.au/travel/travel-news/players-bare-all-for-true-rugby-test-20100621-yql6.html In Dunedin, in winter? Not for me thanks. My boys would shrivel up like a small assortment of dried fruit.

Plus Alec Evans is still helping QLD.

    Wallaby/ Player Sightings

I once had a work lunch at a restaurant in Parramatta. In walks a bloke who looks a lot like Michael Foley. Nah, couldn't be him. Then in walks Connolly and Johnson. They sit there for an hour in serious consultation and I was juuuust too far away to hear. Damn!

Boks vs Diveball People (Italy for some)

I watched 20 minutes in my hotel room waiting for more champagne to arrive. Januarie was seriously awful.

    Wallabies front row

I can't stand this debate any longer. It took Al Baxter 50 tests to start to get good. As soon as he got quite good, we dropped him for someone else who might take 50 tests to get good. I've pulled all my head hair out so I'm having to go south looking for more hair to pull out. Those short ones...

Cheap shot / smart move by Henry

Either way, it's part of the modern rugby coach's job to put pressure on refs. Henry goes beyond that - as I said - he sets the agenda for what gets talked about. Personally, I think he has some talent at it, so good on him, but also the current referee set-up is biased towards NZ and I'm very...

    Robbie Deans Report Card

All good advice. I didn't see the live chat stuff so won't comment.

    Wallabies front row

Yeah naz - I would like an explanation of why a guy not fit to play hooker for Australia was playing tighthead for the Baabaas 3 days later. Robbie Deans apologists explain that.

Cheap shot / smart move by Henry

By the way: either Henry is the greatest diplomat of all time, or the referee body listens to him more than other coaches/nations. He seems to be able to set the agenda (weak scrums vs lying over the ball, for example).

Cheap shot / smart move by Henry

Lee - what if the scrum is stable? Ie, they're not going forward? Surely it's against the rules to keep the ball in there?

    Robbie Deans Report Card

I'm amazed at the variety of viewpoints on Deans. I can't remember an issue when the G&GR community (or should that be "unique group") has been so divided. I was excited about Deans's arrival because the Crusaders played such a beautiful style of football. Recycling, counter attacking, 15-man...

Stop talking sense TOCC and start talking Robbie.

    Wallabies front row

Users browsing this thread: Scarfman, Bruce Ross, topo. Fuck me, I'm well out of my depth here. I'd better go off to the thread where we debate the reserve outside back.

Australia A (aka Barbarians) v England II, Gosford

Yeah - I agree Gags. He's next in line at 10, so needs some game time. Hynes needs a good shot at 15 as well. Chis ahead of Douglas is a crime against nature, though.

    Wallabies front row

The Wallabies don't miss Foley at all ... MUCH!

    Wallabies front row

    1. Tilse 2. Fanger 3. Baxter I like it. Unless someone knows of someone playing 3rd division subbies who deserves a shot. Nicko, how's the ankle?
