    Reds v Brumbies - RD10 2013

Big run Brumbies up the middle by Mogg. Lilo in support. 5m LO to Brumbies but Reds win it.

    Reds v Brumbies - RD10 2013

Good call, given how many of those 'spills' have been called this year

More excellent maul work and Reds in.

    Reds v Brumbies - RD10 2013

Good maul Reds. Earn a penalty. Jacko quick to blow his whistle on that last breakdown I thought.

    Reds v Brumbies - RD10 2013

Very good scrum Brumbies. Georgie with a wry smile to Reds forwards. :)

    Reds v Brumbies - RD10 2013

Willing start by both sides and Brumbies get a roll on with good ball retention and quick delivery from the base. Some good runs there and Brumbies lead 3-0

George Smith - Will / Should He Play Against The Lions?

Who covers his insurance? Who pays for his match fee? etc if he is to play. That all has to be done by some sort of contract with the ARU, which for those currently contracted is all sorted. His Suntory contract I would hazard a guess would not have that in it, because it would not have been...

Waratahs vs Chiefs Super Rugby Rd 10, Fri 19 April 2013

What is less shocking is your inaccurate posts...... Agree with those touting Douglas as a starting Wallaby lock. When he was first selected for the Wallabies he was very aggressive and really got stuck in. Even had a few kiwis impressed Sully :) He seems to have added a bit of finesse to his...

Waratahs vs Chiefs Super Rugby Rd 10, Fri 19 April 2013

That try saving tackle on Ngatai was fantastic play. Got the team fired up as well which is great for Folau. Chiefs were always going to make a run, given they do have some class players and Tahs have inexperience out there, so it was a hard fought win to hold on. From what I saw (was...

George Smith - Will / Should He Play Against The Lions?

Man this thread is going in circles. The question remains if George Smith is willing to enter into negotiations with the ARU. Eligible or not right now, he at some point will have to enter into some sort of terms before he's even selected for a squad let alone play. Then all of those...

    April Wallaby 30 Man Squad

Given two halfbacks are selected very single test it doesn't seem that outrageous that a team would select 3 for a tourney squad. I think only 4 sides didn't have 3 halfbacks and a couple of those sides had 10s that could play at 9 if need be.

George Smith - Will / Should He Play Against The Lions?

Good post Braveheart. No doubt Smith has tremendous credibility in the bank and him playing well just adds to the mystique, but IMO this will essentially come down to a commercial decision for him ie big Japanese contract vs smaller short term contract, then going to negotiate another one...

George Smith - Will / Should He Play Against The Lions?

Isn't it funny that when a fact comes to the surface like this, it puts some of the ill directed criticism of the ARU in perspective. Perhaps the ARU knew all along of the restraints that were in place between Smith, Suntory and the Brumbies loan. Just a thought...

George Smith - Will / Should He Play Against The Lions?

No entirely true. As an NZRU contracted player, there were efforts by the NZRU to convince him to stay on and continue with rugby. Obviously when Nasser and SBW told them how much money was on offer in League, they knew they wouldn't be able to match.

George Smith - Will / Should He Play Against The Lions?

The ARU aren't going to put themselves out there on the risk he doesn't terminate his Suntory contract either IMO. For them it's not just about George Smith, but they know a host of players and agents will be watching closely any movement either side.

    April Wallaby 30 Man Squad

Impossible. Last year the Wallabies didn't have the facilities to facilitate sorting that stuff out...... Can't see McCabe getting the fullback spot, he's midfield and possibly a wing option. Despite AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) being the best 13 in OZ right now I won't be at all surprised to see him at fullback...

    April Wallaby 30 Man Squad

Cheers. All I remember was him being named in some massive squad - 40 odd players? - just thought that was the WC squad. He definitely had a very good year in 2011. I think I was on here even trumpeting for his return as his punting was back to his 07-08 best and of Latham-esque distances.
