Waratahs vs Chiefs - Super Rugby RD6 2012

Agree, I've seen him make some very dominant tackles as well as miss a few. People seem to focus on the ones he doesn't make rather than the ones he does. He isn't the only one missing tackles. He will come good, its only natural when you've had a few injuries like him to be a bit gun shy &...

Rugby Players that started in Soccer (ahem Association Football)

Thanks CD, I did check wiki earlier but kind of err on the side of caution when it comes to wiki at times.

Rugby Players that started in Soccer (ahem Association Football)

Matt Burke was the other name I was struggling to remember! I'm going to bury my opponent with these names, lol. The intelligent & well informed sources from peeps on G&GR forum, where would I be without you?

Rugby Players that started in Soccer (ahem Association Football)

Chris Latham! That's the player whose name I couldn't remember. Plenty of good ammo with those examples. I wasn't exactly interested in how good the players were at Soccer, just that they played it for a while & came into Rugby later & did well at Rugby. @Tigerland12 I'd count it! In...

Rugby Players that started in Soccer (ahem Association Football)

I'm trying to settle another pointless argument that I probably should have just not bothered to getting into.... Anyways, I cant remember player names exactly but I'm sure we've had or still have some very good players at least at Super Rugby level that actually started in Soccer & in some...

    Newcastle Hunter Rugby Union

Newcastle Rugby are the champs of the Caldwell Cup again for a 5th straight title in open grade! Newcastle Colts also won. Story below. http://www.theherald.com.au/news/local/sport/rugby-union/newcastle-cruise-to-fifth-straight-title-illawarra-no-match-in-caldwell-cup-final/2507652.aspx

    2012 S15 SA Conference

Stayed up to watch Lions v Saders. Saders started slow, Lions were doing all the running, great defence from Saders to keep them out, our kicking was not so great in the first half. Second half the territorial kicking from the Saders was much better & really pinned down the Lions. Saders then...

Reds v. Force Super Rugby Round 6 2012

Yay, good on the Force! Excellent try. Happy for the their fans too. Really surprised. I thought this would be a tight game.

Reds v. Force Super Rugby Round 6 2012

I think Link has taken the electric cords & is now using them to administer shock treatment to his charges. Force fell apart against the Rebels. Could always be a different second half. Update, on second thought....

    Disable your oppo!

He should not return as long as the person he hurt is still injured, & then I'd add a season off on to that. He should get help for his self control issues & if he still resorts to these arm locks, etc on return then he has learnt nothing & should be out of the game permanently. I can forgive...

    G&GR Fantasy Rugby Competition 2012

Nic Henderson ended up getting me 31 pts which was a good effort, have x2 Cheetahs & x1 Canes player - hope it pays. Tangawizi, I haven't even had Thommo in my team at all yet, clearly I need to 'get on the trolley'.

    G&GR Fantasy Rugby Competition 2012

214 points if you had Thommo as Capt, wish I did, totally agree with your sentiments DAMN IT!!! ...now if Pocock can do this against the Reds on the other hand...

    A very tacky development

If the parents of kids only sponsor because their kids play then I can see that support disappearing as soon as the kid leave school. That cant be a long term solution for sponsorship. I'd prefer sponsors who love the game for the game & are not simply in it because their kids are. One team...

Waratahs vs Chiefs - Super Rugby RD6 2012

If the Tahs can put in another effort like they did against the Sharks they are in with a shot here for sure but I'd say the Chiefs by 3.

    A very tacky development

I'm happy with sponsorship for school level as long as the sponsors are for the competition as a whole so funds can be divided amongst school teams according to whether they actually need financial help. This collective way of doing things is a better alternative to teams having funds just for...

Truth Behind the HLD lime green Jersey

So it's going to be a permanent alternate jersey? I really liked the Maroon one. It's hard to look mean being green.

    G&GR Fantasy Rugby Competition 2012

I was right! Having JOC (James O'Connor) in the starting squad but getting dropped late meant I had my bench player automatically subbed in & it was Johan Goosen who scored himself a very solid 35 - saved by a Cheetah!

Reds vs Bulls Rnd 5 2012.

I think there is a fair reason to panic if it is a repeat of the same sort of failings from previous seasons, i.e. its a recurrent theme. However, in regards to the Reds alone I believe as bad a loss as it is I do agree with you Bruce that there is no reason to panic. I honesty believe that...

SH team vs NH team....any aussies in the SH team?

Bismark Du Plessis at hooker & Dan Carter at 10 & Adam Thomson on one of the Flanks are certainties for mine. As far as 'old man' McCaw goes he may not well make a SH squad right now but I'm sure going to be happy when he comes back.
