    NRC onwards and upwards

London Irish are known as the Not-Nots for a reason ;)

    Rebels 2017

10s will be fun with our group of backs I reckon.

    Rebels 2017

Depending on preseason stuff, I'd reckon we'd be thinking something like: JD, Sefa, Inman, Hodge, Koirobete, Bishop Gardner, Stirzaker, Toby, Chibba, Weeks, Cummins, Jeffries, McMahon, Reid/Fainga'a, Timani Res: Pat, Cruze, Metcher, Day, Mafi, Fainga'a/Reid, Meehan, English for round 1.

    Rugby News from unexpected places

Reading between the lines, it seems that there's a slight overlap between the wants of Rugby Canada and Pro Rugby. Pro Rugby wants the 5 year exclusivity clause to ensure that this is a proper commitment to the league and they won't drop the teams after a year or two. Rugby Canada doesn't seem...

    Rebels 2017

Not my preferred signing, but a good one nonetheless. Stand off who can play fullback. Good goalkicker. Smart head, at least from what I saw for the Lions. Little bit younger than preferred, but probably suits the squad we're building. Alleviates a little bit of concern.

    The Wallabies Thread

Likely to be without Nel & Hogg at bare minimum. Unlike previous tours, we've also got a solid core who could be picked depending on form, committee, gameplan and fitness. Best case scenario is that we lose our Tighthead and Fullback, where there is a relative chasm in quality (saying more...

    Shute Shield 2017

Martin Naufahu got called up for Tonga from the Dewar Shield for the World Cup Training Squad and for the Pacific Nations Cup in June. Not saying it isn't a fantastic individual achievement, but viewing it as an achievement for the league, maybe not so much.

EOYT 2016 - Possibles, probables and general banter

Rugby Championship is the only thing that's a little bit blurry IMO. The "assumption" I've been making is that the Rugby Championship rights were done the same way as Super Rugby, that is to say, each Union negotiates with its domestic Broadcaster, subject to SANZAAR approval and international...

EOYT 2016 - Possibles, probables and general banter

But what counts as their own product? Super Rugby and the Rugby Championship are products of SANZAAR, not the ARU. And I'm fairly certain you're looking at having to buy the broadcast rights from the domestic broadcaster if you're playing overseas, based on something along the lines of: [Host...

EOYT 2016 - Possibles, probables and general banter

It'd work for NRC, Club Rugby, and Inbound Tours. For Super Rugby and the Rugby Championship it would involve negotiations with SANZAAR, while the EOYT would need negotiations with the domestic broadcasters.

EOYT 2016 - Possibles, probables and general banter

Issue is of course is that everyone and their mother will be trying to run their own platform, and trying to bring in a flagship program to do so. HBO Go, Netflix, Amazon and Hulu are the established ones in the states, but we've seen Yahoo Screen crash and burn with Community, and we're going...

    Dubai 7's: December 2 & 3

Do as World Rugby does. List times in local and GMT, then let everybody else work out what that time actually is.

EOYT 2016 - Possibles, probables and general banter

That'll be the biggest issue ATM, how much the domestic broadcasters are demanding. Having not read through the legislation, it appears that if a sporting event is on the Anti-Siphoning list, and not sold to FTA broadcaster 12 weeks before it happens, it gets "deregistered" so anyone can grab...

The Awful Truth About The ARU's Financial Position

Autumn Internationals window is from the Monday before the 2nd Saturday, to the 4th Sunday in November IIRC.

    Rugby TV Ratings 2016

Kewell and ADP factor wore off too. Plus Timmy didn't buy many favours among the Domestic Football community when he called the A-League, lacking in vi$ion.

    Rebels 2017

JJ eligibility period will have reset though. Tough, but that's life.
