    Wallabies 2023

Struth mate, settle down. I don't know him personally, that's why I said "by all reports", which includes some from outside the media. It's been 8yrs since his Wallabies tenure ended, and he no doubt would have been approached for numerous opportunities over that period. Again, by all reports...

I'm not sure how many more times this needs to be said but, by all reports, there is absolutely 0 chance McKenzie is coming back to rugby

    Reds 2023

All logos are printed on the jerseys now, as embroidery doesn't always work well with the lightweight, sweat-wicking fabric now used (and I imagine it's cheaper). The Canterbury and Reds/QRU logos are embroidered on the retro long sleeve

I forget you lot are however long it takes a pigeon to fly across the Tasman behind on news

Ben Roberts-Smith could soon attract the scouts' eyes. Built like a brick shithouse, about as tall as one too, and likes to get into the dirty work - perfect second rower. I hear he's got a decent boot on him too.

For me it's very much the latter - not a sleight on Waugh, nor his abilities as an executive within the finance world. I'm just not sure that an ex-player, heavily embedded within the 'old boys' and NSW networks, and with a lack of comparable expertise is exactly what rugby in this country...

Ben Fordham getting the exclusive is an interesting start to Waugh's tenure... not sure it does anything to appease concerns

If true, that is a huge disappointment and, on the face of it, a tremendous missed opportunity.

Even if Eddie does bolt, you could argue the buzz and media attention Eddie has both directly and indirectly created has been worth it regardless.

Yes and no - his pace has always been a bit deceptive in that he has long strides without much leg speed. The first couple of tries in the below video are pretty on par with what we've seen from him in Union, but the tries after the 1min mark definitely show he has/had more pace in space.

Jeez pretty unprecedented statement for this sort of thing isn’t it?

Social media meltdowns are a non-negotiable

Yeah be nice to have a bit of context - no doubt the question was along the lines of "you're contracted through 2027, any plans to extend?" and Eddie's response is in reference to the 2027 WC, not 23

Some of Vunivalu's contested high ball efforts on the weekend were pretty impressive - one in particular off a little cross field kick (from Lynagh I think) where he plucks it with one hand. The bloke is clearly talented, he just needs to bring it all together. Having confidence in himself...

It's not a bad strike rate for a bloke that's only recently started to get more involved and comfortable with the game

For the most part, they are. If the player is down and not moving, the neck is always stabilised, and then an assessment is made. Clearly the medics were comfortable that there was minimal risk of neck injury, despite later realisation. I don’t believe this is that unusual for stable fractures...

Except that AAA is now under a bit of an injury cloud

Highlanders v Queensland Reds, Forsyth Barr Stadium, Friday 26 May

In all fairness, it isn't Pickerill's job to determine the extent of a player's injury, and the on-field management of it, over and above stopping the game and signalling for the trainers as required. The Reds' trainers/physios/doctors on the field obviously assessed Vest on the ground, after...

Tupou is back running again. Going from first run to match fit before the RC could be a bit too much of an ask, but maybe 'fit enough' for a 20min cameo is achievable.

The teams don't have any say in citation procedure as far as I'm aware - SANZAAR reviews possible incidents and, if they feel it has met the threshold to require further action, they will cite it and go through that process. Possibly the teams are able to refer incidents of what they think is...
