They Yes they got dusted a few times, but they were preparing to play weaker opposition in the Singapore Shamrocks and the South China Whatever’s in GRR before being asked to play Super Rugby, they were put in a crap situation and showed up more often than not.

The Force didn’t embarrass themselves with an NRC team last year.

Then why should Bell be any different? Other rookie props, no matter how promising, have to play 10 minutes off the bench for a while before getting a start. As Silverado says he’d have been better served developing his game and body playing off the bench. A colts scrum is a world away from a Super Rugby...

Super Rugby Au Rnd 3 Waratahs vs Force 5th March, Sydney

To me a western suburbs team would be a while off, whether someone could fund it or not. Firstly, we don’t have the depth for another Super Rugby team. Secondly, rugby would need a stronger footprint in the western suburbs for a team to succeed.I’m not saying in time that won’t change, but now doesn’t...

Super Rugby Au Rnd 3 Waratahs vs Force 5th March, Sydney

The problem with the “west” is its a huge sprawling area. And if only a few teams are in-dispersed across that vast area, it might be hard to make a second Super Rugby in Sydney to work. Same as how a Country team would find it hard to gain traction as it’s a big area with no base. The Wanderers in the...

Anything to give kids an extra option to play. I know 7s is kind of 20/20 to test cricket, where some of the skills aren’t really transferable to 15s. But it’s in the olympics which might be an easier sell. 10s is obviously a better long term option as it has more of a rugby structure and can...

Understood, the AFL is well funded. Rugby, not so much. We certainly need to get the game back in the public school system. I really think a 7s thing would get more kids who play league or AFL interested. You could keep having tournaments as teams progress to a city or state level. It could...

My experience with Auskick was, my daughter was in year 2, she said they were doing Auskick, all her classmates did it. Suddenly they’re junior members of the swans and all AFL participants. It’s just a ploy to inflate participation numbers and get a few parents nagged into going to a game...

It wouldn’t be fair for Penney to get sacked for a roster he inherited. At this stage, as long as I see progression week to week, I’ll be happy. If I have one criticism, in my opinion he needs to tighten up our game; simplify our tactics and get us moving forward before earning the right to...

    Waratahs 2021

WCR: Understood, but if you’re key demographic is in the north and the east and they’re interested in bums on seats and fan engagement, maybe schedule times where you’re not getting home way past your kids (and possibly your own) bed time. That is if crowds and game day (evening?) experience are...

Another thing to note on playing at Parramatta is if you play a late game and your demographic isn’t right there, you can’t expect families or casual fans to watch the game live.

Somebody compared Will Harrison as a player to a modern day Pat Howard.I wasn’t saying he would or wouldn’t be a good coach, it was just a joke reply on two footballers from different eras. You don’t get picked in the brumbies backline of that era without being good.

    Pat Howard? That’s cruel.

Makes no sense to me. Ramm has a big boot, Maddocks has a huge boot, Marky Mark (Nawaqanitawase) doesn't kick that much. High ball maybe? A change in the second row was needed. Hopefully Sinclair is an improvement.

Brumbies v Waratahs, Sat 27th Feb, Canberra

The brumbies maul is a well oiled machine. I think the multiple chances to get the maul going forward is a problem though. From five out a rolling maul is virtually impossible to stop legally when executed correctly. I’m pretty sure a few of the brumbies maul tries came from the initial shove...

Brumbies v Waratahs, Sat 27th Feb, Canberra

I think the three goes from the maul is excessive from 5 meters out. A well organised maul like the Brumbies is going to be unstoppable with multiple stops to use to regain momentum, let along one. I feel the ref generally is looking to penalise the defending team halting the momentum of the...

I am a Tahs fan and fully understand they aren’t going anywhere, all those other teams have to prove they deserve a spot, whereas the Tahs organisation assumes (with the arrogant knowledge that it’s true) that their spot is certain. Hopefully the shake up is in the boardroom.
