    Proposed Nations Championship

Yeah, tongue was really only half sticking out there. At least the Japanese club rugby is on at a good timezone. Wouldn't mind checking it out. These things tend to work to a power law - those that have, get more and more of the pie, those that don't get less and less. And we don't have

2019 TV ratings and crowd numbers

Robinson has an article this morning. Total average crowd 10,450 Tahs 13069 Reds 11532 Brums 8509 Rebels not stated in the article, but using some maths averaged 8870

Robinson reporting that Taniela Tupou has been offered an extension to take him through to the next world cup around the same value as what was offered to Kerevi, starting at 800, rising to 1m by 2023

2019 TV ratings and crowd numbers

Records for crowds are a lot sketchier, but for the numbers I could find..... Rebels didn't publish enough to make a comment. They never looked good though. Brumbies stayed about the same as last year at mid-8000s Tahs down a little probably due to having no home ground Reds down nearly 10% once...
  5. Strewthcobber

2019 TV ratings and crowd numbers

Just to expand a little, 3 teams averaged home games around 55k, while Tahs averaged 75k compared to last year, Brumbies at home stayed about the same, Reds at home dropped a further 6k to the equal lowest rating, Rebels at home up 10k on average but the Tahs were the big winners with home...

2019 TV ratings and crowd numbers

I have the Aus games up by that 10%, averaging around 61k. 2017 was the nadir, average of around 51k. The really big rounds early in the season helped lift it up

    Proposed Nations Championship

I'd imagine it would be broadcaster -> rights owner -> world rugby -> Rugby Australia
  14. Strewthcobber

    Proposed Nations Championship

Fox still get huge ratings for Wallaby games that are also on free to air. Plus they get the exclusive rights to all the other test matches which would definately drive some subscriptions. But as others have said, Foxtel may not be the customer being targetted here
  15. Strewthcobber

    Proposed Nations Championship

Wallaby matches in Australia and New Zealand, and at the world cup are on the anti-siphoning list so theoretically those games would be safe
