Wallaby No 10 jersey - Barnes or Cooper?

McCabe before Mitchell?!?! Or JOC (James O'Connor)?!?! Really??? JOC (James O'Connor) is really the difficult one to place. If these guys are all good to go, maybe you go: 10-Cooper 11-Mitchell 12-McCabe/Fainga'a 13-JOC (James O'Connor) 14-Ioane 15-Beale Geez....it's not easy...... I like having a bit of a crash-baller at 12 with the...

    Wallabies 2012 Championship Squad

Ioane and Mitchell are your 2 top wingers hands-down Turner would be lucky to be in my training squad. From what I saw last year, he needs to have an open field and not-far-to-go to get across the line. I'd play JOC (James O'Connor) at wing before Turner. I'm not a big fan of his (nothing to do with his playing...

John I Dent Cup and ACT competition - 2012

Probably a few guys won't like this BUT.....back home I played social grade rugby for a few seasons. Most of those guys would be similar to 3rds here....I play 3rds and was even playing 2nds at the start of the season. Anyway, in social grade all scrums were uncontested, there were no quick...

    QF1 2012 - Reds vs Sharks

My last word on this cos it's not really on topic. Kahn Fotuali'i wasn't behind a dominant pack like the ABs but he was still considered by some to have played better than Genia at the RWC. Weepu may not be the best halfback in NZ based on Super Rugby......but being the best in the world should be...

    QF1 2012 - Reds vs Sharks

Yeah.....but he would probably play better :) Go back and look at the posts and threads where we discussed the best players a the RWC and see how Genia wasn't universally regarded as the best. Lucky to be in the Top 3 sometimes. So if he wasn't the best by the end of the intrnational season...

    QF1 2012 - Reds vs Sharks

I'd have Weepu before Genia. A lot of folks thought Yachville was the best half-back at the RWC. Ben Youngs was pretty good too as was Kahn Fotuali'i. And who knows....by the end of the Championship, Aaron Smith mite go past him as well. Again, in my opinion, Genia has by no means proven he is...

    QF1 2012 - Reds vs Sharks

Genia was decidedly average internationally in 2010 and I don't think he was The best 9 in the world last year. He's played 4 games in 2012 and none of them against a team ranked in the Top 5 in the world. Let's see how he goes in the Rugby Championship.....

    QF1 2012 - Reds vs Sharks

Slightly off-topic but.....it amuses me that people call Genia the best half-back in the world. That claim should only be made on international form, not Super Rugby. And Genia has far from proven he the best on the big stage.....

    Rugby - not set pieces

Nothing to do with the Blues scoring more tries??

    How long will Quade get?

I'd like to see the footage of Faainga's shoulder on TPN again. At the time I thought it looked quite bad and pretty dirty but it didn't raise a comment from the 'parrots'. From what I saw, it's hard to say what Saia was actually trying to do - the ball had gone and he didn't attempt to do...

    Reds v Waratahs Rd 18 2012

What the hell Faainga doing on that play?!? Looked like he just went for. a a big shoulder on a prone TPN....looked pretty ugly to me

    No more SBW in black

One things that a lot of you guys don't seem to understand is that it is actually possible to enjoy and love rugby AND rugby league at the same time. Not everyone believes that one game has to be greater or better than the other. SBW seems to be one of those guys. He's not a mercenary, he's...

    G&GR Fantasy Rugby Competition 2012

OK...here's my team for the week. I wanted both Rene Ranger and Francis Saili but with Patrick Lambie, Joe Tomane, Andre Taylor, Bauden Barrett, Pocock and CJ Stander all in my team.....I was a bit f**kd!! LOL

    Crusaders vs Hurricanes

Taylor was in poor form with the boot? Wasn't he like 4 from 5 at that point. And the one he missed came off the cross-bar.

    Rugby Championship 2012: Our Backline

To be fair, if I ever want to show my son how NOT to score tries, that 2nd try will be first on my list I think....

    Rugby - not set pieces

Sorry, I know I'm coming back to this quite late but I think that there is almost a global willingness to ping PIs for hard tackles as 'dangerous'. We make this bed ourselves to an extent as we probably do have a higher number of high tackles but some of the calls are just ridiculous. You feel...

    Rugby Championship 2012: Our Backline

The thing about defence is that it's not just about stats and how many tackles are made. One big difference I see in the ABs compared to the Wallabies is that when the ABs make more dominant tackles and tackles where the ball-carrier goes straight to the deck. This cuts down the availability...

    Law Amendment Trials

If an attcking player puts possession of the ball in danger then I don't see why they are rewarded for a soft carry. And I would rip the ball out 10 times out of 10 if I have an opportunity as opposed to just holding on going for the scrum feed. It's the safest option and quick turn-over ball...
