Rugby Union State of Origin - Hypothetical

I dont really think thats the point. I think sports lose somthing as they become more professional. League had players going from qld to nsw in search of a better comp. What that meant was that for the qld v nsw game, teams were picked not on where you were from but where you lived. So they...

Rugby Union State of Origin - Hypothetical

I'm relatively new to this forum so forgive me if this has been discussed before in another thread. During the reds 'disappointing' period (06-09), when watching games with mates or the old man, the topic of 'if all the Queensland born players played for the Reds, how competitive they would...

2010 Wallabies End of Year Tour (EOYT)

I was unsure about how many players they took so I googled wallabies spring tour and they took 31 in 06 so I just went on that.

2010 Wallabies End of Year Tour (EOYT)

He is a proper test size lock, whereas Mumm is a good impact player but not a international standard lock. Chis adds something to the scrum and lineout, as well as a bit of experience. Add to that the fact that the RWC is next year and so he has to really step up if he wants a spot in the sqaud...

    Brumbies 2011

Giteau should be playing 12, not just because it's his international position, but also because To'omua is arguably the third best 5/8 in the country and brings more to the team than T.Smith. As you said, maybe against the big saffas you might play him but otherwise I'd take Matt and Gits over...

    2011 Super 15 Draw

Would I be correct in saying that if every team played every other team instead of missing 2 games, the competition would only take 2 more weeks. Or would there have to be mroe byes and it would take longer? Because realistically I'd like to see 2 more weeks of rugby, I understand next year...

    Wallabies v All Blacks Sydney

JOC (James O'Connor) is not a winger, he is a 12. We have 2 good wingers in Mitchell and Turner and an underperforming 12 in Giteau. Its logical that you would at least give JOC (James O'Connor) (and/or Barnes) a run at 12 and make giteau earn his spot back off the bench.

    Brumbies 2011

Why not have Giteau at 12 and To'omua at 10?

2010 Wallabies End of Year Tour (EOYT)

Assuming they take a 31 man squad: Ben Alexander Ben Robinson James Slipper Ben Daly Salesi Ma'afu S. Finger Steven Moore Mark Chisolm Dean Mumm Rob Simmons Scott Higginbotham Rocky Elsom Ben Mcalman Dave Pocock Richard Brown Matt Hodgeson Luke Brugess Will Genia Quade...

    Quade Cooper going to NRL?

I'll quote the old man during the game last night: "Quade Coopers an idiot if he go's to league, he can't fucking tackle" IMHO I agree. Rugby Union is his sport and he'd be wasted talent on a league field.

    Wallabies v All Blacks Sydney

The positivies: Kurtley Beale backing himself. Rocky, Chis and Moore stepping up. Ma'afu not as shit as usual. Wallabies scrum was'nt terrible. Negatives: Matt Giteau. Coopers defense. Genia is lacking somthing - I think he needs some hardcore fitness training. Same old lack of composure and...

    Wallabies v All Blacks Sydney

Because the saffas and the kiwis think they are somehow above us and want to preserve there status as the best. Sacking Deans isnt the answer, but giving him a kick up the arse is.

    Wallabies v All Blacks Sydney

No they're not. They constantly cheat, and while we have calls go our way some times, we dont constantly cheat. Its fucking bullshit what they get away with.

    Wallabies v All Blacks Sydney

The only thing the wallabies need is confidence, not just from the players, but confidence from deans to sub blokes 5 mins earlier or to tell Giteau hes not good enough after missing 2 kicks. Untill these boys start backing themselves and showing a quality in the way they perform, they are...

    Ideas for Australian Rugby Union

I agree with everything except the bit about 10's. We need to simplify the game not make it more complicated. It was frustrating playing junior club rugby 10's, then going to school and playing 13's on a saturday and 10's on a sunday. Then junior club rugby became 15's and school was still 13's...

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

Barbarian you speak alot of sense. Rather than ban it, it should be regulated in a way which works out best for the kid. Schools need to take a long hard look at the values they suposedly teach and apply them to this situation. Give the scholarships to the most needy, and not just poor kids...

    Melbourne Rebels 2011

He was never strong in the set peice but he has was always good around the field for sunnybank. Realistically he would only have been an academy standard at best, and for a guy of his age thats probibly not a viable option so best of luck to him overseas.

Jerseys; the good, the bad and the ugly

My dax jersey is probibly my favourite: I also really like: And I think badly designed jerseys are just straight up unacceptable. I mean is it really that hard to design good looking jersey.

Shame they did'nt pick up Ole Avei. He had some big rapts on him but never got to really prove himself in super rugby.
