NRC Final - Brisbane City v Perth Spirit - Saturday November 1

Hoskins is only 2cm taller than Sekope Kepu. This is not an issue. The bigger issue is that he is still only a young fella and that a scrum is the collective functioning of a group of players working against another group. There are plenty of other factors than just the performance of one player.

    Ideas for NRC 2015

That's a good idea. Like the Wellington Lions.

    Wallabies v Barbarians - 1/11/14 (Twickenham)

I think the only thing you can criticise Hooper on is his on field leadership. But you have to accept that he is a young fella and that that should develop. Watching how Hodgson operates (both the positives and the negatives) may have been a helpful experience.

    Wales v Australia

I'd say that one good game doesn't make up for a handful of average ones. Fair enough on slowly bringing McMahon in. Reckon he'd handle it though.

    Wales v Australia

How can people be serious on Higgers? He does NOTHING on defence. He had one tackle in 20 minutes against the Baabaas. But what about his attack I hear you say- Sean McMahon did more in 60 minutes than Higgers has in the last three games I have seen him play. I know this might sound like I am...

NRC Final - Brisbane City v Perth Spirit - Saturday November 1

The golden rule of sports is that as soon as the final whistle goes, no excuses for the loss. It doesn't reflect well. The better team won.

Anyone able to give a crowd estimate?

    Wallaby Watch 2014

I am not saying I ever expect to see Hooper playing in the backs. I just wonder what it would be like if he had moved there earlier on in his career. Just in the same way as I would have loved to have seen George North as a backrower. Not sure what you mean.

    Wallabies v Barbarians - 1/11/14 (Twickenham)

Is Matt Hodgson the first Aboriginal Wallabies captain in 30 years?

NRC Final - Brisbane City v Perth Spirit - Saturday November 1

See I reckon Michael Foley wants to use Kyle Godwin at 13. Rasolea would make a good fit at 12 in that case. But it never hurts to be good in either position.

NRC Final - Brisbane City v Perth Spirit - Saturday November 1

Interesting that Junior Rasolea is moving to 13. Maybe the hope is that he will punch holes out wide where he is that bit further away from the Brisbane backrow. If Brisbane play a smart, settled game, I think they will win comfortably. If you do silly things (like McIntyre's game last week)...

    Wallaby Watch 2014

Absolutely. This is why I always wish that Michael Hooper was a back. He is very good at the breakdown. He is very fast. He is a committed chaser. He is tough to tackle and has an eye for running into the space that will see him even harder to take down or make a linebreak or put himself in a...

    Wallaby Watch 2014

I don't see Hooper as the breakdown specialist that your David Pococks, George Smiths or Matt Hodgsons are. That isn't to say that he is bad there- just that this isn't always his main focus. IMO the other guys are likely to benefit more from the chopping tackles. Pocock is perhaps the exception...

He's a bloody good scrummager too.

    Breaking the Post-RWC Cycle

You can add in Steve Mafi I think. Pretty sure Sias Ebersohn will sign for another 2 or 3 in the next week or so. We just signed Albert Nikoro- it might have only been a one year deal but could have been 2 which might see him added to the list. We are pretty lucky- we keep the core of our...

    Brumbies 2015

Ohh come on even Steven Bradbury shakes his head at Josh Mann-Rea getting a Wallabies cap and says "That's me done."
