That's your construct, but we know that you are the high priest of naysayers.

Dare I suggest that this game shows what Australians want to watch - professional Australian teams playing each other.:)

2018 Super Rugby Final Cantabs vs Lions

In all seriousness, the Crusaders are a seriously good rugby team. Well done on their victory.

If they play like they did today they do.

This Crusaders triumph has me concerned for Dismal's wellbeing.

It seems, that New's strongest age group coincides with the weakest age group at a number of other schools. Joeys and Shore the other strong teams and IIRC, it's quite a strong age group at Shore - which should make for a great last round of matches in the age group.

1st XV result disappointing after last week's titanic match against Joeys. They're capable of some really good rugby; for example when the ball goes through the hands in the backline, they look like premiership contenders. However, this is unfortunately a rare occurrence as their play is...

    Shute Shield 2018

Manly just scraped home over Parramatta 31-30. Rugby really needs Parramatta to do well.

I think that SJC 1 will be packed to the rafters tomorrow. Promises to be a fantastic game.

I suspect that the Scots boys will have their revenge on Longshanks (aka the hammer of the Scots) on Saturday.

    Australian Rugby / RA

Some NRL clubs aren't doing as well as some might think though. Manly have lost members steadily over the past 3 seasons and I don't think they are alone. AFL started from a much higher base and the concept that fans could become "members" has been around in Aussie Rules for decades, but only...

2018 Super Rugby Final Cantabs vs Lions

For those unfamiliar with Skeen's work: But if this match is remembered for anything, it'll be the contribution of Television Match Official Ben Skeen. His influence was significant; not just in overturning two Vince Aso tries but in adjudicating a lot of the running play, rather than referee...

As previously discussed, if your "rank" doesn't take into account the IB (which comprises over 25% of Year 12 at Newington and in which 80% of the candidates receive and ATAR of over 90), then your "rankings" are a nonsense. Please provide the criteria (the "facts" of which you speak) on which...

    CAS 2018

1sts and 2nds are NSWRRA appointments. Mostly filled by people who nominate to do schools in preference to lower grades or subbies. If there is a really big game, there is often a senior first grade or even national panel referee appointed. There have even been times when NH refs here for a test...

    NSW AAGPS 2018

Not as bad as you might imagine when, for example, over 25% of Newington's Year 12 boys do the IB as opposed to the HSC and that the vast majority of that 25% are academic high achievers. 80% of the Newington IB cohort receive an ATAR of 90 plus. If the Sydney Morning Herald wasn't so lazy...

Without getting into the a discussion about the matters raised, Shore owe it to their players to be physcially prepared for the contest. I recall watching a 3rd XV match between Joeys and Kings a few years back and what struck me was that the Kings boys looked like a 3rd XV from 20 years ago...
