All Blacks v Wallabies, Dunedin, 19th October 2013

when I wrote down To'omua and Kuridrani's names I knew the spelling was incorrect but was sure that no one would be petty enough to call me on it ;)

All Blacks v Wallabies, Dunedin, 19th October 2013

Just Read an article on Fox Sports, written by David Barbeler. Barbeler writes the following:- Betham's break comes courtesy of James O'Connor, Digby Ioane, Henry Speight, Dom Shipperley, Nick Cummins, Rod Davies and Cam Crawford all being unavailable. Wait a second...Rod Davies?! is he even...

    2013 EOYT

I few minor thoughts on the squad:- - given the amount of injured/unavailable players atm the squad is pretty decent, and generally quite settled. - No Sio is not good for Sio. I hope McKenzie hasn't thrown him on the scrap heap already. - the lack of a genuine 8 is glaring. I'm hoping we...

    2013 EOYT

He's the obvious choice for the third in line, backup halfback. He's got test experience and had some good moments on tour last year. I suspect he wont get much game time even if we see Genia or White get inured, so he's the best option imo.

    Springboks v Wallabies, Newlands, September 28 2013

This is a bit off topic but I couldn't find a more appropriate discussion forum for this so i figured id put it on the game thread. I haven't posted much since the loss of the third lions test mainly due to my general disappointment in the performance of our team. I must says I enjoyed reading...

Aus vs NZ - 1st Test Sydney 17Aug2013

Ghibli, I'm just curious why you are not a fan of link getting the job and who you thought should have been given the job? Perhaps a bit off-topic, but I want to explore this anyway. I'm assuming you think Jake White was the better option? (Surely not Robbie Deans to be reinstated). Whilst I...

Aus vs NZ - 1st Test Sydney 17Aug2013

A like Link's selections. I think the wobs are going to come out with a lot of energy and adverture. But i expect theyll probably be chased down by the blacks in the second half

2013 Super Rugby Final - CHIEFS v BRUMBIES

If the Brumbies win this game it would go down as the most impressive Super win of all time. I cant see it happening. IMHO better teams have attempted the same feat and failed (i.e. the 2011 Saders). With that said, Let's go Brumbies!!!!

    Crusaders v Reds Prelim 1

I think this game might play out similar to the Reds last game in Christchurch. A close game for the first 60-65 minutes, with the Reds maybe even taking the lead in the early stages. But the saders to finish stronger and take the win. Just hoping we play well.

Wallabies Squad - the Link Era

His injury must be close to healed. expect to see him in the RC, maybe a club rugby appearance in the interim.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions 2nd Test (Melbourne)

Yep challenge made and accepted. We decided on muskets at dawn this Saturday. I'm usually pretty hung-over at dawn on a Saturday, but if I know Deans it's unlikely his weapon will fire properly :D

so..,McKenzie or White edit: (i.e. Tamua or Cooper)

Australia v British & Irish Lions, 3rd Test (Sydney)

I was going to say the wobs had ti start fast and theyv gone that
  14. BDA

Australia v British & Irish Lions, 3rd Test (Sydney)

Yes plus his inclusion appears to have given our team a bit of a mental edge going into this game. A lot of the guys (Genia, Palu, etc) are talking about how they feel extra confident/comfortable with Smitty in the run on side for the weekend. It's hopefully given our forwards an extra spring in...

Australia v British & Irish Lions, 3rd Test (Sydney)

I'm curious as to what proportion of the fans at the game on Saturday will be Wallabies fans and vice versa. 50/50?

Australia v British & Irish Lions, 3rd Test (Sydney)

I think I probably would have gone for Horne on the bench in place of Mogg. We already have like 5 guys in our team that can cover fullback...would have preferred an extra centre.

Australia v British & Irish Lions, 3rd Test (Sydney)

No BOD is a surprise. Otherwise pretty much as expected from the Lions. 10 Welsh players in the starting line-up. I think the Lions will try to hang their hat on the scrum battle. That is a strong scrum they've chosen. Not sure where else they hope to get an edge. We should be able to best...

Australia v British & Irish Lions, 3rd Test (Sydney)

Could there possibly be an extra forward on the bench to accommodate Smith? probably not ideal with AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) at risk of succumbing to an injury during the game
  19. BDA

Australia v British & Irish Lions, 3rd Test (Sydney)

How could McCalman get a run ahead of Kimlin?!? 1) Kimlin has played more recently 2) Kimlin is in career best form 3) Kimlin can play lock 4) Kimlin was best on park against the Lions two weeks ago 5) We already have someone covering 7/6 on the bench (Gill or Smith) That selection is stupid...
  20. BDA

Australia v British & Irish Lions, 3rd Test (Sydney)

It will be a shame to see Gill miss out on the decider. Here's a guy that has maybe 8 or 9 test caps, all from memory were short 20 to 30 minute cameos off the bench. I cant remember him putting in a bad performance yet. Last year he was probably finding his feet and his performance on the...
