TT Rd 3: Blues vs ACT Brumbies

To me the Brums attack is predictable. It works bullying weaker opposition, But what happens when your scrum gets dominated and the opposition negates the rolling maul? White is good at game management behind a solid set piece, but to me he lacks that unpredictability that keeps the opposition...

    Super Rugby T-T R3: Waratahs v Crusaders

I’m guessing if Dempseys work rate isn’t up to scratch or whetton misses a few tackles, they can throw tizzano on. I like the added running option in Dempsey, but feel we need to slow their ball down at the breakdown which calls for a dedicated on baller

    Wallabies 2021

I think it shows the limited pathways available to players as opposed to talent identification. There’s only so many professional spots available. If you don’t make schoolboys, you have to do something extraordinary to get noticed and get a contract. And if you don’t, you play club rugby and...

Gilmore seems to take the captains chair for the games. That’s if I’m identifying him right when the go to the box for reaction.

Yeah, some of those guys had a chance. Others would benefit from training in a professional environment. It’s a big ask to debut as a starter at eden park.

Ankle injury for Walton apparently, like you say, must be bad. We are missing Ramm too, who has a good head on his shoulders. I feel there was something in yesterday’s game that gave me hope. Having been at the canes game, to concede 10 tries to a sloppy team who kept throwing bounce passes and...

Gamble was best on field in my opinion. Was everywhere. For us, anyways. We could do with more carries from 4, 5, 6 and 8 to get some front foot ball.

Gone are the days of getting the longer studs out if it seems a bit slippery. Also highlights the gulf between SS and Super Rugby. You’d hope he’s given another opportunity to show what he’s capable of.

I guess I’m more thinking of combinations to fit those 2 in the backline. Splitting them between 10/15 is a better option than 10/12 if we were to start them both. It’s not a bad problem to have having playmaking options with edmed in the mix too. I agree harrisons willing, he hit one guy so...

TT Rd 2 2021: Reds vs Crusaders @ Suncorp Sat 22nd may 7:45pm

Then the same players are in support for a pass or for the breakdown. It’s simple but a few times the reds made a break or half break and it wasn’t capitalised on as support was a split second late.

    Waratahs 2021

Thought the result wasn’t as bad considering the last minute changes and injuries during the game. Can’t see us playing Donaldson and Harrison in the front line as they’re both a bit small. Losing Perese made a difference, we lacked go forward without him.

    Wallabies 2021

Yeah, not to single him out as he obviously tried his heart out last night, but as an example Bryce Hegarty would struggle to make the Hawkes bay 23. A problem I see is that the kiwis all play more or less the same style. Which makes fitting into the ABs system easier. Our Super Rugby teams play fairly...

They might be more use to giant units angling in at THP? But seriously, it’s like QC (Quade Cooper), he used to make some teams look foolish in attack with his trick plays. But the kiwis could usually keep him in check because he played their style.

    Wallabies 2021

I reckon it’s because we play so one out and are predictable, like this guys gonna do this or that guys gonna do that. The kiwi teams, even the “bad” ones come at you like a wave. Last night it was obvious when Tupou or Vunivalu were going to get the ball as they didn’t have support/decoy...
