Agree BAG , GV was very impressive, looked likely every touch in the first half , but the GT forwards were outperformed in the second half by TGS and when GT did get some ball it was often in poor field position or they made some poor choices, maybe panicked even . Would like to see David V...

Have heard IGS will be without Sam Walker for a few games due to his RL commitments with Australian Schoolboys. How will they go with their second choice #10 steering them around?

The Reds Academy does seem to be doing what they said they would , as in they have invited players into the squad based on form shown in game situations. There were a few additions following the completion of the AIC comp and a couple more following the Riverview comp. Still have the GPS season...

^ The ref is the sole keeper of time , they play injury time in First XV, the time on the streaming won’t always match what the ref has got left on his watch.

Yep , heard it’s either rugby or basketball, but not through official channels, just what the boys bring home from school. Would think it would be almost impossible now to have both soccer and rugby on in the same term due to numbers, so I doubt it could be rugby without moving soccer.

Yep , the starting 13. He played for WA at the U16 National Champs at TSS in 2017 and made the Australian U16 Merit team, was offered spots in a few schools over here after that. Great to see he has picked up where he left off in WA.

Would say the answer depends on whether you have rugby playing sons or not. Even the most diehard clubman isn’t going to miss his son’s Saturday afternoon school rugby game for a session at his preferred club, assuming said clubman is happily married and enjoys his family’s company.

You would think JOC (James O'Connor)'s contract would be stacked with clauses that spell out very clearly the cultural and behavioural expectations of his new employers. He will know where he stands and the consequences of poor choices. Discretion you would hope, wouldn't even come into it. When you combine...

When you consider that UQ should have all their rep players back ( most likely minus Tate ) for the last round v GPS and then the finals if they get through, I don't think anyone would rather play them. Agree with Jets, they have played that way all year and come home strong to finish off...

Think you might have missed the point there B&W, it's more to do with the cheering and back slapping that goes with winning by big margins , but not being prepared to cop the same punishment yourself once the gravy train leaves town.

^^ there are often a few gems hiding away in 2nd XV's that aren't noticed until they are playing First XV as 18 year olds the following year.

There weren't that many returning for UQ , Hocking and Campbell played the week before against SB , but no ASY (Angus Scott-Young) , Korczyk ,Nasser or Oats from U20's , plus Tate's still in a moon boot. Wilson and McReight were strong and busy , but Hocking I would say had the biggest impact, the last lineout...

I think the player you need playing 10 depends where the team is at, you can’t count on him to win you the comp or even slightly more than your fair share without the rest of the team ticking boxes. Quade has not been the same player since his ACL injury in the 2011 RWC , but he also hasn’t...

Yep was there and quite a few scratching our heads as to why you wouldn’t take the penalty to win it . It was crazy windy, but had nailed one into the wind earlier to make it close. The ref did his best in the final 10 to get Brothers the win, players couldn’t quite get the job done. As good...

Thanks for breaking it down by school, I’m sure that means a lot to the team and coaches . Any chance you know how many Waratah Academy players were involved?

Spot on Reg , would love to know how many Academy lads are fronting up for NSW 1&2 . Great to see the lads from Qld that probably wouldn’t have got a look performing well and taking the chance they have been given, as mentioned by a few , keep casting the net and you never know what you might...
