Waratahs in talks with James Haskell, Mike Phillips and Dwayne Peel

You raise a good point, the tahs can't have them both under the current rules, can they?

Cameron Shepherd my bet for Drew Mitchell's vacant wing spot.

Funny to read the update on the nostrodamus comp, 55% of us had barnes as wallaby 12. Wonder what that %age would be now?

    Waratahs 2012

Ok, he's a passable 10, but I doubt he'll be up to scratch in super rugby. We have enough average 10s in NSW already

That's when it becomes Carter Time!

    Mitchell Out Of World Cup?

He has been told 12-14 weeks. http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-union/union-news/ill-be-ready-for-the-world-cup-20110425-1du8p.html

    Mitchell Out Of World Cup?

Yep, barring further injury I go with this too.

    G&GR Fantasy Super Rugby 2011

To see if I used my wildcard too early I created a new account and picked a team from scratch. My original team totaled a whopping 230 points. My ringers scored 436. Ranked 79 on the round. I believe I used the wildcard too early

Media alert: Australian rugby union to announce major decision on the future of rugby

"here's the future of Australian rugby, being captained by pocock"

    Waratahs 2011

Yeah i agree with this, cutch has been poor in contact and not that effective at the ruck. Alcock has played "harder" his tackles more dominant, his carries gaining further in contact, in the brief chances he has had. It would seem the time doing his physical training in the states has paid off...

    Mallet to leave Italy post-RWC

And a 9. They have a good pack, and good outside backs. Halves are the issue. I felt that mallett chopped and changed the squad too much - even in this 6N he never fielded the same backline, even when he had the option. Also, trying an openside at halfback was a disastrously stupid idea

Canes v Reds at the Cake Tin - 2011R11

Yeah, hot form reds, looooong trip home for the canes, reds by 12+

    Waratahs 2011

I like your team, but would swap Alcock for cutch. If A hangers isn't in another teams wider playing group (for some reason thought he was affiliated with the brumbies) then I'd suggest he should get a shot - good rugby head

    Mitchell Out Of World Cup?

Actually I really only called him crazy because he asked us to. Think there are better 12 options than ant f though.

    Mallet to leave Italy post-RWC

Im not sure I agree play had improved under mallett, but I may be longing for the glory days under kirwan.

    Depth, or lack thereof

Good post blue. It's interesting to see the way different teams adapt to change - that's probably a bigger issue than having depth. I read something about hickey where he said (paraphrasing) "new replacements take a few games to get their game right and understand the combinations and moves"...

Waratahs show misguided sense of entitlement after tough loss to Reds

Ok, can someone wind this thread up too? I left another forum due to it's descent into arrogance and parochialism. Let's playbthe ball here, not the man

Halangahu - Carter - Cross: Worst NSW Midfield Ever?

So what's the backline this week? Burgess, hangers, turner Carter cross Kingston Beale? or will hickey try to keep KB (Kurtley Beale) at 10 and bring in anesi?

Waratahs show misguided sense of entitlement after tough loss to Reds

Isn't the flip side to the "we were not beaten due to the other team being better" psychology that it never leads to the team/individual training harder to overcome the deficiency? I'd regard tomic as case in point

Cooper Vuna named in Tonga squad

What about tweak the current rule so it only applies to open national teams, not age group rep teams
