Trial Match - Waratahs v Brumbies at Bowral

I believe the game will be streamed on NSWRugbyTV. Anyone know if you have to have an account to view?

    Waratahs 2022

I understand the support for Harrison and Donaldson as both are promising young players who have come up through the U20s. Hansen did exactly the same but is a little older and more experienced. I just have a thought that the Tahs and to some extent the Reds are very insular in their view of the...

    Waratahs 2022

Interested in Tahs' fans' views on the fullback spot. It was a weakness for the Tahs in recent years as Wilson points out, and without Maddocks it is looking even more dire. Was any approach made to Mack Hansen before he left for Ireland? Super rugby proven performer (stole a match from the Tahs...

    Brumbies 2022

Not unknown to dyed in the wool Brumby fans. He is a big body who hits with power in both defense and attack. Covers both 6 and Lock and an excellent lineout exponent.

Trial Match - Waratahs v Brumbies at Bowral

Thanks Rob. My error - just too impatient for things to start up again. Latest news on the Brumbies website was dated November too. Hope they make it happen this year.

    Brumbies 2022

Nice one UTR. I'd change Samu and Valetini around and probably have Creighton on the bench in place of Iona. Hooper also a big chance of covering the backrow from the bench instead of Kennedy who is an unknown atm.

    Rebels 2022

Not detracting from your comments Dct, but I reckon the Brumbies second row would be the equal of the Rebels and the Reds backrow is the strongest in the Aus side of the comp. Hope the Rebels have a successful year.

Trial Match - Waratahs v Brumbies at Bowral

COVID intervention allowing, this match is on at the end of the week. I am assuming very few of last years EOYT players will take part, so it will be interesting to see how the sides fare. FWIW, this is my tip for the starting Brumbies side : Sio, McInerney, Ross, Neville, Frost Kennedy...

    Super Rugby 2022

I've never had any issues with "definitely" being replaced by "defiantly" by auto-correct. My use of it in my post was quite deliberate to reflect the over-the-top comment by Reg claiming favouritism for the Brumbies. Don't fix anything on my account Sully.

Defiantly shows without doubt and unanimously that the Reds have a few more years yet before they reach the summit. :p

    Super Rugby 2022

BBL apparently is establishing a group of club players to act as reserves for the whole comp. Sides in trouble can call on players from that group to cover losses if I understand it properly. Might add some credence to proposals here to do much the same in Super Rugby.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

I'm not close to any club side in the JID comp, but I remember when the Canberra Vikings got the nod to participate in the NRC, there was a lot of angst about only Tuggeranong Vikings players being selected at the expense of good players from other JID clubs, and further that that scenario would...

    Reds 2022

They were the best combination in SRAu and SRTT 2021. Paisami remained the best Wallaby No 12 option after Kerevi left, and his form in the last two tests was excellent. JOC (James O'Connor), on the other hand, did not play to his Super Rugby standard after he came back from injury. His form in the tests leaves his spot...

Can anyone provide current club affiliations? Is Pat Maka the No 8 from Gungahlin? If so, looks very promising.

    World Rugby Awards 2021

I think Valetini and Tupou can both be considered unlucky to miss out. No LHP got on top of TT this year and his open field play is just better than his opposition THPs. Valetini also finished on top or on par with his opposites, remembering too that the Wallabies had wins over the French...

And Kellaway is a real rugby player while Jordan is more a running athlete who imo has some weaknesses in his game and again imo will be found out before much longer in the game.

    World Rugby Awards 2021

A blast from the past. And while it is a feel-good story and doubtless well deserved, I wonder if it reflects on the standard of the present day referees?
