Wales v Australia, Sunday 21st 4.30 am ADST.

I would definitely start Philip and Swain in the row TSR; Rodda looked to me like he needs a bit of a rest. I'd also start Lolesio in place of JOC (James O'Connor) who is not the future and who put in a real shocker against England. Otherwise, Samu for Hooper if he's not fit and Swinton to the bench, and maybe...
  2. Brumby Runner

Wales v Australia, Sunday 21st 4.30 am ADST.

Not on his 10 - 15 minute display against England KOB. Looked overweight, missed a lineout throw (out of 2 only?), made an illegal grass cutting tackle that would have had fans here with apoplexy if Fainga'a had done it, and generally took little or no other part in the game. The Brumbies 6th...

    England v Australia - Twickenham, 14 Nov, 4:30am AEDT

I'm a bit with Lightblue and emuarse on this one. No issue at all with rivals having a drink and a laugh afterwards in the sheds, but on field immediately at the end of a test match is definitely offputting. Moreso given the smirk that appears whenever Beale makes a mistake on the ground.

    Super Rugby 2022

Everyone will no doubt have issues with how their side is dealt with, but the Brumbies are particularly disadvantaged by some aspects of the draw. First, the Brumbies were quite vocal about wanting to have two or three Sunday afternoon games for the comfort of the crowd. They appear to have got...

    England v Australia - Twickenham, 14 Nov, 4:30am AEDT

Valetini too. Marvelous what a difference it makes to the perception of performance when a player routinely holds on to the ball. Ikitau will learn that and he'll look like the 13 we've all been wanting since Mortlock retired.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

His half time comments were along the lines of England were rubbish and the Wallabies would run riot in the second half.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Campo's comments at half time were the most ill informed I reckon I've had the displeasure to hear.
  8. Brumby Runner

    England v Australia - Twickenham, 14 Nov, 4:30am AEDT

Really? I wonder if he thinks that. Rodda seemed to have the lineout calling duties last night yet the first four lineouts all went to Leota. It looked like Arnold and Samu also shared as many lineouts as Rodda di in the whole game.

    England v Australia - Twickenham, 14 Nov, 4:30am AEDT

You don't think that had something to do with JOC (James O'Connor)'s 'no-look' pass which went much too hard, too high and too far in front? I reckon Rory Arnold might have been the only player in the side with the reach to have a chance of pulling that one in. Having said that, I also think there are better...

    Wallabies 2021

    Assuming the two THPs are available, and Hooper isn't, I'd go with: 1 Slipper 2 Fainga'a 3 Tupou 4 Philip 5 Swain 6 Leota 7 Samu 8 Valetini 9 McDermott 10 Lolesio 11 Daugunu 12 Paisami 13 Ikitau 14 Perese 15 Kellaway 16 Mcinerney 17 Bell 18 AAA 19 Arnold/Rodda 20 Swinton 21 White 22 Paia'uau...

    Wallabies 2021

If he's out, I'd like to see them stay with the current squad, rather than drafting another Europe-based player in - sorry LFG. 6 Letoa, 7 Samu, 8 Valetini, 20 Swinton. Otherwise, I think Arnold is the only drafted player who has performed at all ok. Still prefer to go back to Philip and...
  12. Brumby Runner

    England v Australia - Twickenham, 14 Nov, 4:30am AEDT

The way I look at it JC, he went somewhat backwards from last week. Both kicking from hand and his passing game were substandard and imo the primary reason the attack went nowhere. I reckon it was one of the poorest No 10 performances I have seen from the Wallabies.
  13. Brumby Runner

    England v Australia - Twickenham, 14 Nov, 4:30am AEDT

Pretty much agree with all of that Pfitzy, but can you clarify your comment about Fainga'a and the lineout laws please? Was it a Wallaby or England throw in? If ours, then it is up to the Wallabies to set the numbers in the lineout, but if it was England's throw, then was Fainga'a even part of...

    England v Australia - Twickenham, 14 Nov, 4:30am AEDT

Story of the game - we kicked away any opportunity for the Wallabies to be in the game. Worst game from a No 10 since the days of Foley. JOC (James O'Connor) needs to be left out altogether, along with Beale. Waste of two positions in the team. Leota and Valetini were outstanding otherwise.
  16. Brumby Runner

    England v Australia - Twickenham, 14 Nov, 4:30am AEDT

KOB, I think you subscribe to the view that Banks is just keeping the spot warm until a better No 15 arrives on the scene. I would suggest that JOC (James O'Connor) is in exactly the same position in relation to the No 10 spot. Probably unlikely that either will occupy those spots at RWC 23, but in the absence...

Like to see more commitment from Wrightin his tackling. Tends to only use arms. Needs to use his shoulders as well as arms. Anyone who gets past him and on the weekend will have virtually a free passage through our last line of defence.
  18. Brumby Runner

    England v Australia - Twickenham, 14 Nov, 4:30am AEDT

You'd have to think Wright would be on a final warning Pfitzy.

    England v Australia - Twickenham, 14 Nov, 4:30am AEDT

I'm not going to criticise the coaching staff and selectors for picking a team from the players available to collect two wins over each of South Africa and Argentina. I also applaud them for coming up with a game plan that took full advantage of those available resources. They were dealt a bit...

    Wallabies 2021

So, maybe Rennie should start lecturing the rest of the players to enjoy and be happy with their losses? Looks to me that some seem to think the rest of the army is out of step and that the different one is the real soldier.
