Australian Bid for 2027 World Cup

That is likely to be too late W. If a commitment can't be made until after the election (result is known) then I think we are relying on WR (World Rugby) not having any other options. Would be a low act now for a 6 Nations (say England) country to come in with a bid.

SRP (Super Rugby Pacific) Rd 3 Force v Reds in Perth

Some looked questionable to me LeC. If Jordan had a hamstring problem, he probably wouldn't have stayed on. But Campbell especially looked to stay down to get the penalty. Just on that set of incidents, I reckon it was judged that Godwin's tackle was late but not foul play, while Paisami's...

SRP (Super Rugby Pacific) Rd 3 Force v Reds in Perth

Reds emphatic in returning to top form. Game was in the balance though until Tupou came on to the ground. That changed the whole tempo and the Reds then were able to convert their dominance into points late in the game. As others have said, McReight, Wilson and Uru were outstanding; Paisami...

Australian Super Rugby Team of the Week 2022

Sorry Slim, and not now likely to do that. Maybe look back to see if any of those involved were in the totw last week. If so, just rule that they haven't been dislodged by the challengers.

    Reds 2023

Don't know his contract status, but surely Richie Arnold must be worth some serious thought. Almost as good as his twin who is now worth the most (or near) a rugby player ever has been valued.

Super Rugby Rd 3: Brumbies v Waratahs in Canberra

I would prefer Simone but Ryan Lonergan filled in there last week when Noah went off with blood. That looks to be about the strongest team the Brumbies can put out. A good showing, or a win, by the Tahs will speak volumes for their development under Coleman. EDIT : welcome back Ruan Smith.

Drua v Rebels @ Sunshine Coast Stadium 7.45pm AEDT, Friday 04/03

I'm with you on Matty To'omua (such a shame). But I posted after the game last week that I thought Gordon looked more like a 15 than a 10. Will be interested in watching how he goes. Great to see Ioane at 8. That, at least, is an improvement in the attack.

    Refereeing decisions

Tackled without the ball? Reckon I've seen that penalised many times in games. Or is that just another misnomer imported from League?

Super Rugby Rd 3: Brumbies v Waratahs in Canberra

Ah, the memories, hey KOB. Remind me, how many times in the past 5 years? Truth is that it is last week's ladder leader versus this week's ladder leader. Tahs are definitely on the improve and while I reckon the Brumbies will get the bikkies, I expect it will be close and a win for the visitors...

Australian Super Rugby Team of the Week 2022

Just a bit querulous about selecting Godwin at 12 and Perese at 13 KOB, when they played around the other way.

Australian Super Rugby Team of the Week 2022

Other commitments meant that I only got to see the first half of Tahs v Reds, and only intermittent snippets of Rebs v Force. So I won't be posting a TOTW this week, but the following caught my eye in the little I saw. Angus Bell was exceptional for the Tahs; FLW (Fergus Lee-Warner), Philip, Holloway and Frost all...

    Brumbies v Drua @ GIO Stadium 2.35pm AEDT 26/02

Highlight of the round has to be Nick Frost running down one of the Fiji fliers in what would have otherwise been a runaway try. Up there with Wilson's effort to score last week.

Super Rugby Rnd 2: Rebels v Force

I thought Gordon looked more assured and confident at 15 than at 10.

    Brumbies v Drua @ GIO Stadium 2.35pm AEDT 26/02

RN, the Brumbies probably left another four or five tries on the field today as well as a few missed goals. A more clinical performance would have seen them score perhaps 60 to 70 points but for all that, the Drua were also much improved on last week. Not an exceptional performance but...

    Brumbies v Drua @ GIO Stadium 2.35pm AEDT 26/02

No fish in the rivers out west KOB? I already explained that I would be adjusting the Brumbies performances against the Drua if like the Tahs they put 30 - 40 points on them. More interesting will be those who discount the Brumbies after praising the efforts of the Tahs last week.

    Australian Rugby / RA

Was it ever likely anyway? Third in line at the Brumbies and at least another 4 locks playing domestically and a few more playing internationally all in front of him. Likely he will return in two or three years rated near the top of the pile.

Nah, specifically thinking about last night against the born-again Tahs.
