    Brumbies 2009

Wow! Mackay in before Chapman..whodathought? Backrow of Fainifo, Gerrard and Rathbone doesn't look so bad, at least there's some pace there to accompany Gerrards good kicking and tactical game.

    Queensland Reds 2009

I think Connor did well to get into the squad given his serious injury last year and the fact that he missed the Reds Euro tour, but reckon he is bench at best. Vaalu, with his prior experience should start at 14 regardless of who is at 13, however if Vaalu is selected at 13, then Connor is a...

    Ismauel Dollie to Brumbies?

What happened with this guy? I don't see his name in either Brumbies team for this week.

    Waratahs v Brumbies trial

Lee, I last saw Swanepoel play in 2007, but he impressed me greatly then. Big, aggressive and strong with a good pass and can play as an extra forward. I've no doubt he will succeed as a senior player. Just trying to think who he reminds me of....maybe there's a bit of Farr-Jones about him?

    Reds v Force trial

The strong feeling was always that either Hynes or Vaalu was ging to start at 15. Agree TOCC, makes absolute sense.

    Waratahs v Brumbies trial

There was no room in the Reds Academy for Breddanham with McKibben and Swanepoel already there and he was retained in the NTS squad along with Ambrosini (starting 10 for OZ schools against NZ last year). These two were subsequently given offers by the Tahs and Brumbies academies respectively...

That he is. Funny selection that?

    Queensland Reds 2009

I'm heartened by that result. Means that at least they have the ability to score tries. Looking forward to watching the Reds go around against the Force this coming Thursday.

    The Official Australian 7s Thread

Looks like the youth policy is well and truly alive for the Sevens, which is a great thing: Despite his side bowing out at the semi final stage, Australian Sevens coach Michael O'Connor declared the Aussie Spirit's involvement a success, with former Roosters rugby league star Shaun Foley a...

    2009 Brisbane Club Competition

Haven't seen Swanepoel play since 07 but dont think he would have any difficulty at Brisbane Premier level. I've heard from a few sources that Gillespie is at Brothers this year?

Interesting to see Betham at 14. and Gerard at 15. Not the quickest back three.

    Queensland Reds 2009

I only saw him twice for the Breakers and he impressed each time. He also played for the Qld A team against the Brumbies and Tah's A teams and looked good. Interestingly he was more often at 13. Injury meant his club season was limited, his U 20 appearances were cut short and also robbed him of...

    The Official Australian 7s Thread

This last back and forward is worthy of its own thread "Is good enough old enough?" Personally I say forget the exceptions and stick with the IRB rules. The threat of potential long term physical injury to just one person because they aren't fully developed suggests this is the safest and...

All of whom who were in that magnificent undefeated 2007 team. From memory, these boys were six of nine TSS boys who made one or other of the OZ schools team that year. Interesting to see that Elih Baillie has made it. OZ U16 merit side in 2007 but couldn't crack Qld 1 or either of the...

Pick your Wallaby team for EOYT

It'sinteresting to go back through some of the posts. In the case of this topic, some punters got it pretty right and others were way off. The Cooper critics were abundant so may have a little egg on face. He still has to prove his consistency at the top level but for mine he was the player...
