    Reds V Highlanders Rd 17

If that was a deliberate knock down by Cooper shouldn't he have been yellow carded as it looked like a try if it went beyond him?

    Reds V Highlanders Rd 17

Great run by Lucas, if he had been looking where the support was outside him the Reds could have been in again.

    Reds V Highlanders Rd 17

Caplan is being a bit stingy with the cards Reds could easily be down to 14 but another ref might have reversed the pen for the headlock. Highlander might regret missing the conversion. Reds need to score next to cut off any thoughts of a Highlanders comeback.

RFU "Blazers" trying to stop London Welsh taking their place in the Aviva Premiership!

Looks like London Welsh are going to approach Gavin Henson with a contract offer. He will certainly bring media interest but probably for the wrong reasons. I wonder how many months he would stay this time. Maybe I'm wrong to be cynical and he'll be a reformed character and play for them for...

Poolman has signed for Connacht on a 3 year contract from next season.

    French rugby destinations

Not sure how long you'll be in France but if it's more than a month then the first few rounds of the HEC will be played while you're there. I haven't got the fixture list but the pool draw has happened and potentially there are some very good games to watch. Pool One: Munster, Edinburgh...

Are we expecting too much of our players?

Some injuries are unavoidable especially if they are a result of a collision, fall, landing awkwardly etc. But others are down to technique, conditioning and player management. Rugby more and more is becoming a squad game. It's no longer just about the 15 that start or even the match day 22/23...

RFU "Blazers" trying to stop London Welsh taking their place in the Aviva Premiership!

To wrap this one up Newcastle have confirmed they won't be appealing this decision that sees London Welsh promoted and themselves relegated. So Dean Richards' return to Rugby, after his ban for Bloodgate, will be in the Championship next season.

    Waratahs 2012

For the most part the only time people take note of the work of the board is when things are going badly. When things are going well the team get praised and the board work away in the background. When things are going badly the spotlight is on the board. That's their time to earn their fee. A...

    Crusaders vs Hurricanes

He hit the crossbar in the first half then dragged one horribly on about 45 mins and the miss from out wide wasn't even close. That last one put him at 6 out of 9 which is a poor performance with the boot. Not a stinker but enough that you wouldn't have backed him to have gotten the one out wide.

    Waratahs V Brumbies @ Homebush

Really looking forward to this game. It's great that there's something riding on both of the Tahs final 2 games.

2012 Super Rugby - crowds & TV viewer numbers

I don't mind the pay TV having the rights to the games under the current model. That's mainly because the same umbrella organisation that includes Sky Sports and Foxtel own all the major rights that aren't protected for FTA. That means I pay just one subscription and I get HEC, Aviva...

    Waratahs 2012

Since Foley is getting a 2nd year then he should be given complete control over rugby matters. This should include making any changes in coaches and players as he sees fit. If the board are going to back him then do it right. However I wouldn't be surprised if the board have decided to keep...

    Crusaders vs Hurricanes

They definitely had time to go up the line. But they probably should have done that from the one a few minutes earlier when they got a pen out wide and Taylor missed it. Normally in such a tight game taking the points on offer is a hard and fast rule. But when your kicker is in such poor form...

    Waratahs 2013

Speaking of the Rebels the contrast with how the Rebels have bent over backwards to keep Gareth Delve another year couldn't be more stark. The Rebels did the right thing and recognised how much Gareth contributes on and off the field. Tom Carter cares about the Tahs more than most of the other...

    Waratahs 2013

Tom Carter really was badly treated. The way those that run the Tahs behave reminds me of someone who has holed the bottom of a boat. Now that it's sinking they'll push anyone else overboard except from themselves. They don't know how to fix the problem so they'll just keep pushing people...

    2012 S15 SA Conference

Lions have done really well to get back to 13-10 with 20 minutes to go. Strauss scored a try by going over the top of a ruck in the Stormers 22 and having a clear run to the line. Stormers should have more breathing space but Aplon butchered a certain try when he decided to go himself rather...

    2012 S15 SA Conference

Lions really came out firing at the start of their game against the Stormers. They brought some great physicality and seem to have a point to prove after recent revelations. As the half went on the Stormers came into it more and more and only some last ditch denfence has kept the score down to...

    Wallabies vs Scotland - 5 June 2012

Who would have thought your defeat by Scotland would have such far reaching consequences. It has inspired them to put in place a plan to not only complete a 6Ns Grand Slam in the next four years but to also target winning the next world cup. I think it's great that Scotland have some of their...

Force v. Brumbies: Super Rugby Wk 16

Brumbies hung on and won it 28-17 but on that 2nd half performance it will almost feel like a loss. They had to work a lot harder in the 2nd half than the 1st would have suggested. Force have something to take from the game after a very good performance after the break, but still you would...
