Cranbrook have an abundance of front row talent, with Rathie playing 6 on the weekend and Hill and Barakat 1 and 3.

Biggest loss is Tim Anstee..He played brilliantly for CAS1st against CHS and unfortunately was injured yesterday. That said the Cranbrook lads are very able replacements... On another slightly different tangent I think both the Barker and Cranbrook coaching staff need congratulating. The spirit...

Cranbrook v Barker. Cranbrook win 23/17.. 3 tries to 2. Scrappy game but Cranbrook were dominant and had enough ball to win 2 games. 1st win of year for the Whites. Well done Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I did say I was using my head not my heart. It will be a close match the Barker Cranbrook game, but Cranbrook are over due for a win and at home they will be tough. Nothing will please me more if Barker get up and win but Barker are missing a quality goal kicker and Cranbrook have McNiven who...

I will bravely step forward and make the following predictions, using my head and not my heart on Saturdays games. Cranbrook over Barker Alloys over Trinity Knox over Waverley I hope that all teams play well and make life hell for the CAS selectors and most importantly, that all the player...

I heard good things about Dainton too. But apparently he is gone for the season. Mores the pity.

I am not sure I agree on Thompson. He distributed the ball well to his centres. What hamstrung the CAS backline was the rush defence of the CHS lads. Both Williams and Slaven at times had no choice but to crash and barge as the alternative would no doubt resulted in a loose pass. I think the...

That's true. He kicked well the Trinity lad. Now I think of it I would have Longerville(T) kick in preference to Diamond (A) and I would also ensure that Thompson (B) practices his field goals.

Goal kickers are a worry. That said I am not up to speed on the strengths of each schools kicker. I heard the lad from Knox was good and of course Diamond kicks for Alloys but he is hardly a Hasm El Masri. And they do come in handy a reliable kicker. Just ask the Barker 1st XV.

CAS Selections On first pass I think the selectors have done an admirable job picking the 1st and 2nd XV’s and the reserves. It’s never easy and initial thoughts change as players and teams develop. Throw in some key injuries and you find the team you thought you had nutted out after 2 rounds...
